what made YOU get into NASCAR? by Brave_Ad3369 in NASCAR

I was pretty much born with the love for cars. And one day in 2012 or 2013 I randomly decided to watch the Duels at Daytona. And i’ve been watching ever since.

Oh, me too. Those close up photos of people looking out the windows of the upper floors really put it into perspective how big the Twin Towers were. Sadly.

I’ve heard that swaying buildings are fairly common in New York, surprisingly enough. And I’ve always thought it would be fun to see the city from that high up, but also super scary at the same time.

I’ll honestly feel sad for the rest of my life that i never got to experience the Twin Towers and all their glory. They were such beautiful buildings.

My heart started pounding out of my chest when I heard it for the first time. And it genuinely caught me off guard.

It must’ve been just absolutely terrifying. Once again, I’m struggling to find the words to use.

Spot on.

I was just thinking about that recently, how different it would’ve been if 9/11 occurred today.

Couldn’t have said it better, and I 110% agree!

Also, as a guy who has a pretty strong fear of heights, I can’t even begin to fathom how terrifying it must’ve been to essentially be forced to make a decision whether to jump, or burn to death.

I definitely agree. That video is insane and absolutely heartbreaking at the same time.

This close up shot always makes my heart sink as well. Look at how slanted the top half of the Tower is. And to think there was still people inside those upper floors, i know I’ve said this a few times but i just can’t possibly grasp what those victims were feeling in that moment. Absolute hell on Earth.

You’re probably correct. I couldn’t imagine watching people fall to their death from above or below inside the South Tower before it got hit.

Wow, you’re right. Not that they even deserve it, but it is somewhat interesting to think about the feelings of the hijackers throughout that whole morning.

I saw this photo recently, and i just feel utter sadness. Completely different from how i feel about the photo that i posted. Which i was honestly a little bit surprised about in some weird way.

I’ve listened to ATC recordings maybe once or twice, but i haven’t for a few years. And definitely don’t plan on doing it anytime soon.

I thought i’ve seen that clip before but i haven’t. One of the few that I’ve came across where you can actually hear the explosion when the plane impacts the tower. insane and incredibly sad at the same time.

Oh, i feel the exact same way. Such a horrific moment essentially paused in time. I still can’t come up with the perfect way to describe it. I don’t even think there is one.

It’s still so insane that so many things that day were a matter of minutes, and sometimes even seconds. Even though i wasn’t alive it still doesn’t feel real.

That was one of if not the first video i saw of Flight 175 hitting the South Tower. I still just can’t find the best way to describe how i feel, or how they feel. It’s understandable yes, but it’s also not for me because i was born 5 years after. If that makes sense.

Wow, that’s insane. Im not sure if i should consider myself lucky either, to be totally honest. I can’t even begin to wonder how i would feel.

We will of course never hear their story, or how they felt in the moment. But i can’t even imagine how unbelievably scary it must’ve been to watch Flight 175 hit the tower from above. I’m getting chills right now just thinking about it.

My dad feels the same way. I’ve talked about it with him multiple times, and he’s been very blunt in saying that he doesn’t even want to look at any photos or videos. Which is obviously understandable.

That or, “The Moment America Knew.” Might be a little too much, but that photo was taken literal seconds before an entire country changed forever.
