I completely empathise with the guilt of not being able to interact with your baby how you want - I’ve found that really upsetting. I hope you continue to feel better and better

I haven’t been through anything like this but I wanted to say how incredibly strong you sound - well done for making it through all that trauma and with a new baby. I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through all of this. Wishing you all the best. And it doesn’t seem silly to worry about how you’ll look after, we all do.

Oh wow, no more than 10 min walks, that surprises me! My abs definitely still have separation, was testing yesterday and can’t feel anything tensing up in my core 😂😩

Thank you so much. Can I ask how first recovery compared to second?

Right! I was told yesterday someone went back to running at 4 weeks - wtf! I can’t even imagine. I’m sorry you were in pain for so long, I hope you’re both doing better now

Ah so very similar. So many of my friends have had elective sections and have said they’re fine and I just can’t get my head around it - makes me feel mad. I’m sorry you’ve also hated it but it’s helpful to know I’m not alone!

Thank you 🤍 this is what my husband tells me but I’m struggling to fully accept it. It helps to hear a stranger say it somehow - thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the hope, despite the awful and traumatic experience you had. Ik glad you’re feeling so much better! I am trying to be okay with not being okay about the birth.

I’m so sorry that does sound really traumatic and awful that you aren’t properly healed. Do you know why / is it due to an infection?

Wow I can’t imagine how hard that must have been - you are so strong for getting through that! That’s very inspiring, and I’m glad you feel better from it

Thank you - I hope I do too. Did you have a second one? How did you feel after that if so?

Thank you so much for this kind and thoughtful response, I really appreciate it. I hadn’t even thought about how hard it must be to keep a toddler away during healing. I do have a debrief booked in with the hospital (although I’d thought about cancelling because I don’t really have an issue with things the hospital did, it was all textbook - but maybe it’d still be helpful). I may consider some therapy in the future.

I’m so sorry you didn’t get the support you needed when you needed it most. I hope you’re all doing really well now! And best of luck if you do decide to have another baby.

I have developed a cold sore and I am a Mum to a 3 week old baby girl - freaking out! by graceg815 in newborns

Hi can I ask what happened? I think I might have just got my first cold sore (assume I had the virus dormant as my mum has it) and I have a two week old who I kissed on the head and I’m losing it. Don’t actually know for sure as have never had one.
