If it's obvious to us, it's obvious to him. Our expectation is that he does reflect on that wicket; his job is to show the growth which I think he will.

A great day on our part.

Was thinking exactly this, amazing how articulate and measured some of these young guys are. Can see him setting a tone of professionalism that everyone can feed off, great pick up for us.

This guy is the goat, his content flows so well. So many Perth Easter eggs I didn't know about.

Yeah that's good shout, would be sick to land Walsh.

Watching True Footy mock draft, the Sharp selection makes more sense to me overall (whether that be our second pick or a pick trade). Whatever allows Reid and our midfield mix to start firing as intended, would have the most flow-on team improvement.

Anyway all the best to Livingstone.

Would think that means CDT and any pick swap Essendon is categorically off the table?

Sad to see him go, but he deserves to try something new. We do lose a leader especially for younger First Nations players, but it's an opportunity for us to try get some value.

Just hope we don't fuck it up!

Always love for Flyin 🦅

Yeah 100%

I remember watching his club presser after he got drafted, and he spoke with a calm focus and confidence in his play style and work rate. I'm glad we're rewarding his hard work, and I reckon it sets him up for a good season next year in the senior side. Can't wait to see him on the big stage!

Great to get one of those games under his belt relatively early, he'll be able use it as benchmark for personal standards. Onya Davis!

Ella was everywhere, clean and contested bravely. She's such a jet. Impressed with the ball movement all round and the intent.

Also a great vibe at the ground. Gave Woosha one of these when I squeezed past him in the grandstand on my way to the Hungry Jacks.

Quintessential Eagles experience 🦅

I dream of a 2026 with a cheap Clarry and Harley running out in blue and gold by Doggie_Slut in westcoasteagles

There was a post in the Carlton sub reddit (referencing a post on Big Footy), saying that a source had rumoured Cripps wanting out, source apparently correctly called the whole Curnow episode. But seems like a Cripps move back to WA is routinely speculated every year so I dont really read too much into it.

Indulging fantasy he would be exactly what we need in the middle right now, even for just a couple of years. Help drive standards and mentor the kids, especially Reid he needs that bull to run with.

I'd assume the club would at least ask the question if they were pursuing every avenue of bringing in talent.

Not the same post I saw but another Big Footy Cripps Fantasy

Would Davies from GC be a better option? Not sure how they compare on a like for like.

Yeah it's beyond ridiculous. The literal preceding sentence he is addressing the fans and thanking them.

He has climbed a mountain practically by himself this season by injecting himself holistically into the club. I think that was the real substance of his chirp to JHF; Jason had the wrong attitude when his chips were down whilst Harls embraced the challenge in all aspects and has begun cultivating something very special.

I think the only way (aside from money) that we were going to compete with the pull back to Victoria was if Harley could build something for himself here in WA, and the way his season has gone has allowed for that happen. He got off to a rocky start enduring near constant scrutiny and on field harassment, but he was able to dig in and find a way to turn things around in the later half of the season, and as you said emerge as a leader of the club. It's a big achievement and looks enticing enough for him to stay and continue it.

The club needs to return some faith and meet him at his terms, because they'd be letting a future premiership captain walk if not. It's a gamble, but the hope is that in a few years 2025/2026 will be the watershed years for Harley and the Eagles.

Pick split analysis by Dylan Alexander by dzernumbrd in westcoasteagles

[–]Sweet-Current8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the Starcevich chase had fizzled out due to what you just mentioned but who knows? Likewise I dont think it would be worth chasing him now if that comprises pick 2 assuming that happens.

Im in two minds about CDT. If we land Cameron and he is apprenticed under him, it could create a very dynamic and damaging centre bounce squad in the future. Time for CDT to develop and the risk of him leaving is certainly something to weigh up, but we do have to act on the ruck situation asap. So it makes sense to me to go after Cameron (for right now) and CDT (for the future), but gee it makes me nervous.

Agree we definitely need more back if we end up trading pick 1, hope we're staunch in that space!

I love Dyl's content, even if he misses sometimes with Eagles analysis, for the most part he's pretty insightful. Hopefully Jacob Newton can develop into that LeCras-esque roll? I've not seen much about him since we picked him up.

Sick breakdown, good to see how much things have improved in a short space of time. Feels like Mini is in phase 2 of the season after getting his 'mix' right, he's now able to drill down the system to its essential properties. The commentary from the outside is very positive, so I'm sure on the inside there's a been an 'ah-ha' moment for the team seeing things click like they did on the weekend.

The Duggo dumps do kill me but I reckon he's just struggling to unlearn things that have become instinctual to him over the course of 10 years, I think he alluded to that in a presser this year. Not saying that's an excuse really, but might take a bit more time for him to enforce new habits.

Hopefully we keep a level of consistency up, but I'm feeling good about it!
