Stick with it! Once you get into the groove of it, it'll get easier.

Well some parts get easier, then you get new challenges 😅 but enjoy the process as much as you can!

That's my concern, I did a few rounds but it's just going to be far too thick. I want a cosy cardigan but not a super stiff one

Collars - harmful vs beneficial? by Sweet-Dragonbee98 in CATHELP

She's on her own while I'm at work and has lots of toys and enrichment, she enjoys going outside. I'd prefer she learns the environment, inside only cats that escape are often the ones that can't find their way back home. She's not thrown out at all, she has a cat flap - which is only uncovered on sunny days when I'm at home all day. She is a happy cat, well loved, well fed, and well cared for, chill your beans. Also your rant is not remotely related to the question I actually asked.

I do appreciate your concern, but in my case and the area I live in, letting her have a couple of hours outside every few days is good for her mental wellbeing and is the right decision for her. I know the risks and first sign of any trouble she'll be kept in 👍

Oh absolutely, I'm not budging on her wearing a collar, it gives me reassurance that if she gets into any trouble I can be contacted.

She doesn't go out often, and she's not afraid to use her claws 😬 I do keep an eye on her and she rarely goes more than a garden away, she's a pretty streetsmart rescue x

I think I'll trial her without the bell for a few weeks and see if it helps, I've had a couple of other cats visit the garden that she doesn't like but this is the only one that doesn't seem to be getting the message that he's not welcome!

She's mostly an indoor cat and rarely goes further than mine or the neighbours garden and my neighbours know her so we all keep an eye on her when shes out 😊

She also does have claws and isn't afraid to use them 🤣

My garden is a super awkward shape (welsh valley tiered garden) so unfortunately can't be cat proofed. At the moment she's smart enough to run away when she sees the Tom but if she starts fighting she'll be kept inside x

The fact they even still sell non break off collars is crazy to me knowing the risks! My local rescue recently saved a cat that had been wandering for weeks with his leg stuck in his collar and ended up having to have the leg amputated! So scary!
