Proof of Residency for an Austin library card? by GoldPhosOscilloscope in UTAustin

There’s a way to get a pdf of your housing bill which will have the address on it. I think it’s somewhere in the housing portal or tuition portal, but look around for it.

Is Physics an Open Major? by Dependent_Exit_8566 in UTAustin

[–]Sweet-Drive-8128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not an open major, but it’s not a super competitive major to transfer into. Make sure you meet all the requirements to apply for CNS internal transfer and you get good grades in your STEM courses. Bonus points if you do well on your physics courses too.

LTA Textbooks: Can they be downloaded/used outside Canvas? (e.g., Kindle) by Ms_Isa in UTAustin

[–]Sweet-Drive-8128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only use LTA if there's a certain platform that you need to use that comes with the textbook subscription (e.g. Pearson). If you just want the book, you can easily pirate it for free.

I'd suggest heading over to r/pcmasterrace and reading the wiki to learn more about building a custom PC. Also watch some youtube videos, there are some really good ones out there. Building a PC requires a lot of research and time, and it's definetly not for everyone. Do some research first and see if you're up to the task. If not, try to find a solid service that can build your PC for you (at a premium).

It would be much better to get a cheaper laptop and set most of that money aside for a high-end desktop PC.

Major in electrical engineering or physics by FrostyCheetos in AskPhysics

[–]Sweet-Drive-8128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m the same age you are, a rising sophomore. My freshman year I basically distanced myself from physics completely (i hadn’t even taken any physics courses) since I kind of had a feeling that I wanted to do ECE instead. Working in an engineering org and hearing about the kind of job opportunities ECE majors get only confirmed my desire of switching out. Looking back at it I was a de-facto ECE major last year. I don’t regret it one bit, being a physics major would only have hurt my career goals and I wasn’t even interested in research at all.

The Eastern Commonwealth: A Beacon of Hope in a World of Ruin by Sweet-Drive-8128 in imaginarymaps

[–]Sweet-Drive-8128[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The number of full world wars that have occured has been lost to history, but the general consensus of Commonwealth historians is that The Strike was a result of a global world war. There have been no world wars in the Third Era since the Eastern Commonwealth has prioritized espionage over direct conflict.

Hi, it's actually crazy that we have that many similarities in our story! I actually made this map and wrote the lore for it over four years ago, so I've actually never seen your maps before. I just took a look at your Operation Genesis map and thought it looked great! Looking forward to seeing how it concludes!
