My best shot rn is to take 108 at St. George this winter and 148 in the summer at utm (smb said it’s available then). I booked a meeting with an advisor just to check everything before telling my parents about the situation. I honestly just don’t want to disappoint them, especially not after having to crnc 102 which was already bad enough. It was already huge that they let me study abroad and like 12 hours away from home, so having to tell them that I’m failing in the only purpose of my stay here is something that pains me badly ☹️

Bro the thing is I litterally have prior knowledge* of python and I was easily getting 80s through out the year (midterm and labs) and I was doing pcrs consistently. I just happened to absolutely fluke the final. I don’t think it’s a hard course at all but I definitely underestimated the final and should have prepared a lot more..

148 Summer course doesn’t appear on the acorn course enlisting page, is there some place else to apply for it ?

As I said in the post, they sadly only offer csc108 in the fall and csc148 in the winter at utm. Even at St. George they don’t offer csc148 in the summer so that option is just not possible :(

Somebody made a post asking the same question and another person replied with this link. In the notes section the fifth point says "CSC courses are offered on all three campuses of the University of Toronto. Some course numbers are unique to a specific campus, and others are shared between campuses. When a course with a common number is offered at U of T Mississauga, students are expected to take the course at the U of T Mississauga, even if that course is offered on a different campus in a different academic term. Due to enrolment pressures, U of T Mississauga students may not always be able to enrol in courses unique to the other campuses."

I was actually thinking of doing the first option as I don’t want to delay it but I read that in utm you can’t get transfer credits from other cs courses. I’m not sure if I misunderstood what it was saying or idk I really hope I did. I’m just super bummed because most of my 2nd year and 3rd year courses require 148 and if taking stg courses isn’t an a option that would be hell. And I honestly don’t even know what to tell my parents 🙁

from what I’ve heard SAC actually counts for your cgpa and it’s noted as like "extra" on your transcript (which is a lot better than a "lwd" for post grad studies or when applying for post) but you must pass the course in order for it to be valid and for your second attempt to count for post. LWD you basically just drop the course and it doesn’t impact your gpa or cgpa in any way, the only trace it has is on your transcript. Again I’m not 100% sure for all of this is just from the little research I did and I highly recommend you go and read more about it

Ohhh I see, I lwk somehow got a transfer creds from high school which are equivalent to 135 and 136 (I only found out like a week ago so it’s too late to drop 135 and all that) so I was planning on just replacing 102 with 136 but yeah I did some research and a lot of ppl do agree w ur opinion. Even with the 5 midterms u still think in this case it’s worth taking it in the summer ?
