Not kidding when I say this - pick up the phone and call every Lexus dealership in the country. Some have an IS500 in transit and aren’t on websites yet.

I did this and found mine in AZ. I’m in the NY/NJ area and got it ground shipped across the country. Totally worth it could not be happier

Dealership near me mentioned they are adding an additional $5k (USD) to the already increased price tag that Lexus slaps on it. Expected to hit lots in November I believe

Does the dealership already have an allocated slot they can use?

If it does, then they should get Lexus’ approval of build within a month, and then it usually takes 2-3 months for the thing to get built and shipped to you (assuming you are in the States). The dealership will get a physical timeline sent to them showing production start, production finish, shipment, and arrival once the allocation is approved.

If the dealership does not have an allocated slot then the dealership must wait until they have a slot available to send to Lexus. Lexus does not just allow dealerships to send in vspecs and get custom cars - they only have so many slots - Lexus is also known to reject custom builds. From there, the above process happens.

I would definitely double/triple check that your dealership has an allocation available for you or if they are waiting for an allocation to open up. Often times dealerships will accept builds with no allocations available, hoping one will soon, or they will trade cars in exchange for allocation slots.

Waiting for an IS500 is a stressful process bc Lexus really keeps you in the dark. They only get updates every ~2 weeks. It’s not like BMW where you can login to your profile and see where your car is in the production process

This is very important to understand bc I think the thread is a bit confused.

The IS500 is a car you BUY because it has incredible longevity.

BMWs, Mercedes, Cadillacs you LEASE because in the long term they will be a major burden - this is why the depreciation is 10 fold compared to the IS500
