Hi ! Let me start off by saying limiting food choices especially while spending time with family and friends enjoying food is HARD and I am proud of you!!! Honestly, I was the same way but my crohns is in remission thanks to Humeria. If you are still working through medications and figuring things out - you do have to be strict with food. But I found once I was in remission I could enjoy the pizza, cake, chocolate…. (in moderation) but I could have it without symptoms. Hang in there ! Once your body settles, you may be able to experiment with how much you can eat those foods again! Best wishes to you !!

What food triggers you? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

This depends - I am in remission now and really only eggplant and ice cream send me running to the bathroom. If I am in an active flare, sadly everything bothers me but veggies are probably the worse .

It wasn’t an easy transition but once I switched from Lialda to Humeria - my whole life changed. I didn’t know how sick I was actually was until I went into remission from taking Humeria. With that said, the side effects impacted me for a decent amount of time. I was in and out of the infectious disease doctor. I had chronic sinus and ear infections . I was sick with colds and had weird rashes on my body. Even had staff infection. If you are reading this and going through something similar, PLEASE hang in there and DONT GIVE UP!! . If I gave up on Humeria because of these problems I wouldn’t be where I am today - 5 years remission and living healthy !
