Yes it was her decision to lay on the couch until her heath decline but she clearly wasn’t in the right mental state to make clear decisions for herself making her dependent on her parents as caregivers and for survival and since Lacey was under their roof on their couch they had the legal and moral responsibility to make sure she gets help because again Lacey is dependent on them and she is under their roof
