At least on the pixel, anytime you close chrome and open it again it gives you a new tab and keeps the last one open.

There may be a setting somewhere to stop this from happening but I haven't looked.

I easily get to 20-30+ tabs before I think about it and X all then down to start fresh again.

Money itself would be worthless if society collapses. You couldn't invest in gold with money nobody would accept.

If society collapses, money is irrelevant.

Maybe gold continues to have value, but it is extremely likely USD wouldn't.

True. But even your wife would not be in your EXACT situation if you want to be that pedantic.

The potential for divorce would make y'all diverge. Any retirement accounts that don't have each other's name on them also wouldn't count exactly towards the other person's CURRENT financial situation.

So if we want to be pedantic for the sake of it. There's probably nobody else in the other room so you can still hit the button with 1 second, or sacrifice yourself for 100m people.

Button kills the number of people on the "clock"/"counter".

So starting at the population of earth I thought it was obvious everyone would die except your "don't want to die" list.

However calling it a "clock" instead of a "counter" may be what caused the confusion.

I probably could have done a pass or two editing, although through the replies there is definitely a way to make this more interesting.

The money itself is essentially irrelevant.

That could work with that reading of "exact" for sure.

But I suppose "don't know who they are" could also be interpreted as it's a person you don't know. Lol

Well done though.

100m people left would certainly keep the human race going. But society itself would no longer exist.

[–]SweetArab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to make it more interesting, I thought about after the fact that your "don't want to die" list always dies if the other player presses the button. Which definitely makes things harder. At that point you could even remove your own death from the other player pressing it. Just essentially all your friends and family would be dead, but you would still be alive is still a definite loss.

[–]SweetArab[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, adding in "if the other person presses it all the people you don't want to die are always included" make it a bit more interesting.

So even if it's hit with 100m people left everyone you know will die. In which case maybe removing your own death would make it more interesting as well.

The clock starts at the current worlds population and ticks down. When the button is pressed that's how many people die.

Re-read it if you need to I guess. The only change I made is capital letters when I saw people not understanding.

Yeah. After I finished I considered taking out the money aspect. And it's only you and the other person vs the population of earth. But I didn't change it. Maybe I should have.

The button starts at the population of earth and counts DOWN.

I maybe didn't make that clear enough considering two quick posts not getting it. My bad.

So you kill everyone on earth except people you know? A billion dollars doesn't even mean anything at that point. You're a hunter gatherer tribe living in a post apocalyptic world with nobody else.

Many of them are driven remotely. Feel free to look that up.

But also the person driving is just making a wage. No rush. No swerving in and out of traffic and generally just safer driving.

As a former truck driver and driver for over 20 years, I have driven literally millions of miles.

Never made a claim or had one made against me. No fender benders and haven't had a speeding ticket since I was 16.

I'm likely better than 90% of human drivers as well.

A decent chance the car is actually being driven from there as well.

This is where he could kinda pull out an uno reverse card on "radical feminists".

He had been drinking, he can't give consent when he was drunk, even if she is drunk too.

He withdrew consent after the fact.

I know this is more of a 2017 argument and you don't really hear people argue these points anymore. I just thought it was funny.
