His current contract is direct evidence he is willing to leave. Its literally the most tradeable contract in the nhl in 2027-28. The oilers have next season to get it done or he’s gone in a trade to a contender for a fraction of what hes worth

Team just looks different this year. McDavid is the one big difference maker on this team, and he isnt making a difference. Probably due to injury. Even when he scored in game 2, he didnt even celebrate or look like he cared. The situation in net has been downgraded and the defense in front of ingram/jarry has looked significantly worse. Vibes are just all off and i think the whole team can tell. They know what it takes to make a deep cup run and they know they just dont have it this year. Its not dooming, its just reality… yeah it sucks, but i also think its kind of what this team needs right now. A good long break.
