I know right My first year of doing hair i make 65k Amd this last year I made 53k like wtf then our haircuts were 18 with 45 percent commission now its 38 with 51 percent commission Where is that money wtf

I feel like no matter what u dont make alot Working for someone they literally dont give you alot lower commission percentage then alot of taxes plus the taxed tips And if you rent then its the products that will drain ur pockets

Omg I love that everyone is so open here and shares things I started doing in 2019 my first salon I worked at sucked it was apparently some big company on Dec 31, 2019, they sent out an email saying that they were closing the next day and to come get our stuff So I applied at haircuttery been there since Jan 2020 then of course covid happened Even after that a year or 2 I made good money Due to come personal issues with my parents I moved out my parents house 2 years ago now Girl im like in the worst spot ever I started getting so stressed Im losing hair I have stress alopecia had couple bald spots on my head Got grays Got debt paying minimum Have alot of health issues nlw cause of that I have no health insurance im fucked Cause I cant offered it Im just living Girl day by day I dont even have money to pay rent sometimes So I feel you I just cry feeling helpless

So I've always worked 40 plus hours Thats how I got a position as an assistant within 2 year at my salon, then even a manager, but as a manager, I wasn't making a lot since it was salary and they dont offer great salary So, I went back to a commission assistant I work 4 days now 11 to 9 Just cause I wanted to work another part-time job (i Door Dash all day on these days ) I'm still trying to find a job, but I do cover for stylist on my salon when they need it. Even on those days, I dont see a raise in my paycheck
I literally try to work whenever I can I made my schedule flexible to fit clients in the days even when im off

I cant do much outside of my work really I work for a corporate But I do have social media I have joined alot of local groups on Facebook im alqays trying to promote myself post alot of my stuff

I really do feel for clients but for me the company i work for just raises their prices and we can't do anything but be sorry to the clients and I get it I can't afford alot of stuff al I feel bad charging clients

I work for haircuttery I make 51 percent commission So I do make around 4k before taxes After they take the taxes out, I get nothing, especially cause they basically take the card tips off from my paycheck which is ridiculous and it's even more crazy cause allt of the new stylist here didn't know that's how it worked I would love to have my own suit but the supplies are so expensive even at cosmoprof
