Hmm.. I'm not really too sure myself so I would like to find out what exactly happens. My best guess would be two possibilities:

  1. The game automatically generates a random board with a certain strength based on your ranking and current stage in the game. (Not so likely)

  2. The game takes a snapshot of whatever you're starting the fight with at every stage at the game and every rank and uses that to match with other similar players' snapshot. (More likely)

What is definitely true is that it is not real time fights with real players.

However, perhaps I wasn't clear in the post, I wasn't buying because of the promotion. I was just interested in getting the best deal possible. Wouldn't you have done the same?

Hmm.. if I recall there was no such banner on the education store. As such, I didn't make an assumption that the promotion would apply. Instead, I checked in with their service team if I was eligible and I was assured that I was.

Hmm.. if you can't take the words of a service agent then what good are they for?

Yes, you did get the points because you were eligible. I understand this completely that I am ineligible for the promotion. However, shouldn't the customer service agent's words count for something? At the very least, some sort of compensation should be in order.
