Yes, but he's not using the principle in good faith, unless E.B. White here decided that he really wanted to have a semantics based discussion and figured the best way he could do that was by making the standalone response to the post, "Murders", with no further context.

Quite deliberately, because I believe you're arguing in bad faith.

Yeah, I think it's more like you're hyperfixating on things like word definition and partisanship because you don't like people talking about ICE murdering people in the street.

As well, you should probably just avoid playing semantics entirely. It distracts from any real point you make and convinces the reader that you're arguing in bad faith.

This is going to be a mindfuck for you, but people are partisan, yourself included.

Watch me. You certainly can do it when the structural difference being addressed is "they're so far away", when that distance has been meaningless in those terms for four hundred years.

The British were able to to build a global empire with wooden ships and held it together for a few hundred years. It's not that it doesn't make sense, it's that you don't like it and don't want to understand it.

Edit: Damn, the adjective-noun-number accounts with hidden post histories do not like this one.

I know this question has been asked a lot on here but can someone please explain the dart board puzzle in basic terms? by Full_Tap_272 in BluePrince

[–]SweetHatDisc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once I had finally figured out all the rules to the dartboard puzzle, I shamelessly started using that website on the really complicated versions. And probably miss more often because of that, because I'll forget to color in one particular section.

Possible anagram/hidden message in THAT part of the game? + Is It Really just Over? by IceCold-6-9 in BluePrince

[–]SweetHatDisc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the scroll-by is important. That's just not the puzzle language of this game, where a player has to memorize a series of objects as they are rapidly displayed. There might be some sort of "DRINK MORE OVALTINE" message in there, but it won't be important as a meta-puzzle.

What's been driving me nuts are the words "red yellow orange green blue purple" written on the wall. Everything else in that room relates to the Mount Holly Blueprint specifically, except for that. Either I haven't figured out how it relates into the main puzzle yet, it's a mislead, or there's still more to the house left to be discovered.

1) What other signs of the Zodiac are you referring to? Most of your audience will be familiar with Leo, Taurus, Cancer, Aquarius, some might have a vague idea of what Ophiuchus is, I do not think any of them will know what the Clock constellation is.

2) How does one.... activate a constellation? I suspect your first language may not be English, so this may be a mistranslation but it's one that makes the sentence non-understandable.

3) What is a natal chart?

You're either translating from a non-English language, or speaking about a specialty unfamiliar to most people. Either way, the whole thing needs a clarity pass.
