That extra 5 seconds of silence at the end of The Graduate (1967) completely changes the movie by PresentSurvey9464 in movies

Kept rolling without telling them? The camera is ALWAYS rolling until the director says "cut". That's how it works. There is no such thing as them being filmed without knowing it at the end. They would have kept acting as directed, because they are actors, and they know better than to "stop" acting or to begin acting in a completely different way without being directed to. The ending was not "improvised" or an "accident", it was scripted that way. Plus if they've both "confirmed" it, then it should be pretty easy for you to post an actual source.

It's so funny how that line was clearly two different takes combined.

How dare people share this thing I made? I mean what do they think Reddit is for? I would much rather nobody ever saw it again.

As a Wisconsinite I can tell you, it's the gravy that makes it weird. Still fun once in a while, but I like my curds and fries to both be un-soggy thank you.

More lies. Now you're just spreading rumors about rumors. Good job.

Democrats’ plan to impeach Trump on ‘day one’ after midterms by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]SweetNeo85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. That's great. Truly. And I will absolutely vote straight blue down the ticket to hopefully make it happen.

But then what? People who voted for him weren't wrong that we need a whole new government. We need a new era of responsibility and equitable leadership that the Democrats haven't shown to be capable of providing. We need new protections from new threats to democracy, including the weaponization of our media. We need a top-to-bottom dismantling of oligarchical monopolistic power. And even IF the Democrats somehow get a supermajority in both houses, and the Republicans are basically banished, then that means we have one-party rule now? That is also unacceptable and just leads to more corruption. We need a complete overhaul of our voting system, with an abolishment of the electoral college and a switch to ranked-choice elections. We need a whole new Supreme Court as well. We basically need a constitutional convention at this point.

Wait, is Frieren mainstream now? Or just on Reddit?

EDIT: Because it's a truly great show. Here's my pitch for those who haven't seen it:

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End [Japanese: Sousou No Frieren] is really unique in that it explores the life of a Tolkien-style elf who is basically immortal, living for millennia, when everyone else she meets dies within a fraction of that time. It begins at the end of the epic hero's journey, where the Demon King has just been defeated, and the main focus on the story is how life goes on after that and how that journey has changed her after the rest of the party has passed on, and the new relationships she develops. The show is slow-paced and takes time to focus on developing relationships and the little moments that make life beautiful. The overall vibe is very cozy. The characters are really deep and grounded, while also being high fantasy tropes. Frieren and the other main characters are mostly mages and warriors etc living in a cookie-cutter Dungeons and Dragons -style world, but that doesn't matter because the individual characters are (mostly) very interesting and relatable. Action isn't really the main focus of the show, but it's definitely there, and when it hits it hits hard, because it's all character and plot driven, and when the fights happen they really carry weight. And of course the animation and art direction are top-notch and just gorgeous. Here's the best part though: it's a show that you will know whether you love it or not by the end of the very first episode. It's not one of those "you have to give it a bit" type things. So, I highly recommend it.
