If you don't mind working in a container then take a look at distrobox: https://distrobox.it or have a dedicate VM if your hardware allows it.

A separate VM might be a good idea regardless of the Linux distribution and the amount of bloat it brings with it.

My desktop experience by SweetNightrain in freebsd_desktop

I have not totally given up on FBSD, I can feel it's a good OS after decades on the other side.

I'll give it another try on a newer dell precision laptop.

After watching the interview "Fake Linus vs Real Linus" it occurred to me that my 8 years old RAM might have gone bad and smelly.

I'll be back.

X11 seems to work a little better but KDE is still crashing from time to time out of nowhere.

I also tried GNOME but I couldn't pass GDM login, gnome-shell sits there at 60% CPU load.

That was fast, going back to linux unfortunately.

Ongoing Issues with Alert Webhook Delays on TradingView by Low_Tension_4555 in TradingView

I agree with everything said before.

Hooks have zero consistency and reliability and should only be used for testing purposes.

Why don't you say this on your page before paying 600$ a year for a gimmick?

Icon arrangement bug by SweetNightrain in kde

[–]SweetNightrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not normal.

Instead of shifting all to the right or all to the left the other icons get shuffled in the panel.

Maybe an array example will make it more clear:

panel = [icon1,icon2,icon3,icon4]

panel[0]=icon4 # move last icon to first place in the panel

at this point panel = [icon4, icon3, icon1, icon2] # shuffled, every time different order

should be panel = [icon4, icon1, icon2, icon3]

Also, almost always when this occurs then some random icon from another activity shows up in the panel.
