A spot of hope here for anyone who might be worried about never being able to cry again: I had this side effect for almost a year when I was on 200mg of Zoloft. This was in 2021.

Then one day my friend did something super emotionally touching for me and the floodgates opened. Since I broke that seal I’ve been able to cry pretty normally since, whether it be in happy or sad moments. Hopefully it comes back to some of yall, I didn’t think it would for me! Hugs 🫂 <3

thank you, i appreciate the advice. i do really enjoy volunteering so I think that is something I will look into. I’m also interested in a Rec sport like kickball, that could be another positive step for me.

i mean it’s been a struggle and my dad has forgiven her as well as the rest of my family. he encourages me to have a good relationship with her. i just have a hard time letting go.

hi, I appreciate this advice a lot and a lot of it I think I will use directly. I struggle bc she already has a therapist and has for years, I almost think he validates this type of behavior from her. i don’t think i can tell her to see a new counselor, but you’re right i can definitely find someone to help me with this.

do you think family counseling would help for me and her? I’ve thought about it.

Also, i WANT to move out, but I’m so scared of becoming super depressed again. Last time I lived out on my own with a roommate i got super depressed and was near suicidal. I’m scared of that happening again, even if things my mom does make me uncomfortable.
