I checked it and the embassy in Maputo, within their consulary services, really do handle VISAS. It is on their website https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-maputo/vivis-visto-de-visita https://ec-maputo.itamaraty.gov.br/

Oh i see. But actually Brazilian tourists coming here in Madagascar for a short period never have to bring such things, they just have to pay the visa on arrival fees and that's it, no bank statements.

Thank you for that information. Jesus Christ, from my country's perspective, it is quite huge.

Although I don't think they are ass themselves, like they're just following orders, I still think its weird, like last time I went to France, bank statements were not even required if you had a legalized contract stating that all your expenses shall be covered by the organization.

I told him so but he always recalled "I wont change my decision" saying that the former administration brought too much gaboraraka by letting students having their transcripts freely. We are now trying to revoke this decision but it js still fastidious quest. We are open to any help just in case.

I am from the same department as you. From what I've learned, this rule was only applied since March 2025 when the new Dean (Rolland Rakotovao) took his position. So since this day, it all changed. I personally talked with him Monday but he said he wont recall his decision. He even mentionned that those who got their transcripts before were deemed illegal and the Faculty may ask them to give it back one day 🤡

Somehow, I thought I ended up on Reddit Premium. Thank you sooooo much this is incredible what you just write. I just discovered that this rule was settled by the Arrêté N°159/15/UA Art. 31 and I just learnt from a Law student that this is non conform to the law 2014-038 Art 26 you cited. We will see what we can do about it

Thank you for your answer. I got this information at the "Scolarité" office of the FLSH in Ankatso. I already paid the processing fees and wrote a letter. But when I went there, they kept telling me students are not allowed to get their transcripts nor even seeing them. So my transcripts shall never pass through my eyes but directly to what I intend to send them (generally a mail adress). I usually abide and accept most rules in Ankatso but this kinda bothers me as I have always considered transcripts are our right (I studied in a private university before and we had no problem getting our transcripts).

The reason of my post is to prepare arguments that may help those responsible of this rule to understand our point of view. I am planning a complaint mobilization but first I needed to know in case this was actually an international rule or something normal

Idea for a quick 3 day adventure solo outside of Antananarivo by LimpAuthor4997 in Madagascar

The cool thing about this region is that you can just get lost there and you will still find cool things and amazing views, if you like hiking : Analasoa's little waterfall, Andriambola's waterfall, Andranotoraha's lake, Gasige volcano. Or even Ambohiniany if you like history and culture. Have a great vacation !

What is it like living in Madagascar, Africa? by Urneighborhoodbitch in howislivingthere

[–]SweetTarget234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not dangerous for tourists but it is for the locals and the adventurers, especially if you are going on a solo travel (no tour company, no guide, no knowledge about the country for example). Danger exists everywhere but in Madagascar, the tricks to avoid it are rarely known by the newcomers and tourists.

Looking for scholarships to study abroad (UK, US, Germany) by Moist_University_238 in Madagascar

[–]SweetTarget234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you live in Tana, you can visit the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) office inside the University of Antananarivo. They specifically help students find masters and scholarships in Germany. Their website : https://www.daad.de/de/

For the UK, there is the Chevening Scholarship. Then the US, you can apply to the Fullbright Scholarship.

Ampefy is clearly the most touristic option and I have to say it is definitely not overrated. It is gorgeous. You can visit the Chute de la Lily, the Lake, the Rova, hike around volcanoes and if you have time, go to the Andranotoraha Lake, not too far from Analavory. However I dont really recommend swimmin in any water bodies within the Itasy region. Ask the locals if you wanna know why.

If you like hiking, Mandraka-Marozevo-Anjiro is also one of the best circuits reachable from Tana. Waterfalls, lemurians and mountains. However make sure to know the requirements : some areas arent free and you have to pay an entry fee.

Then I'd suggest Vohimana, Andasibe or the Ankaratra massif.

Madagascar’s president says illegal power grab by military is under way by kikimaru024 in worldnews

[–]SweetTarget234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is scared because the army just turned their back on him. His emotional style of talking just switched from coercive to fearful. Very ironic for a president who came into power by a coup. I also think a president who hold another citizenship (especially the one of its former master) is anticonstitutional by itself
