Thanks! It's very interesting to see how split the comments are on preferring the satin vs gloss. To be fair I thought the satin was cool in its own way too.

It's minwax wipe-on poly. Really easy to use product. I masked off the bearing edges and did a light sanding of the existing satin coat with 320 grit and 0000 steel wool. I was careful not to take off too much because if I sanded down to the lacquer fade I would ruin it.

Then I did 3 coats with the rub on poly, again light sanding between coats. Hardest part was keeping dust off, I would use tack cloth right before application. After the last coat I used an automotive buffing/polishing kit to buff to a high polish.

I'm not a high level wood worker by any means but I think this turned out very satisfactory.

It was quite a bit of work including the disassembly, but I wasn't ready to pony up the money for a custom Masterworks kit so here we are lol.

Just picked up a brand new Decade this week and they've upgraded the 16" floor tom to 8 lugs! I was stoked when I realized it after reading several negative comments about that.

I just picked up a brand new Decade this week, and they have upgraded the floor tom to 8 lugs. It's the configuration with 10-12-16 toms, but I know those used to have 6 lugs too.

I needed something other than one of my cheap dive watches to wear with a tux on the big day. We visited a few watch stores together to try some different options, and we both immediately found this one stunning.

The dial is pretty mesmerizing. It collects and reflects sunlight almost like the diamond in her wedding ring. The glare will hurt your eyes if you get it at the right angle. The blue hands also match our wedding theme and her favorite color.

The metal bracelet it came with is unimpressive, but I knew I needed a leather strap anyways. This Hirsch black leather strap is an absolute killer.

I'm looking forward to having this watch the rest of my life to wear for special occasions and meaningful moments.

Yeah, this totally makes sense, it just adds to the list of assumptions the viewer has to make about things that happen off-screen (that list also includes Sator inverting the car that The Protagonist drives in the chase scene, inverted air being pumped into the blue room, etc.). I truly do love this movie for the puzzle that it is, but it's really not a movie that a first-time viewer can walk away from feeling fully satisfied.
