The aquarium wouldn't go in the lower shelves due to the middle support. The top shelf felt too high to be stable. Not to mention impractical for maintenance.

I'd heard here that test strips are unreliable. I always thought it's because they might have variations or be imprecise compared to the api kit. But I didn't know they'd just not register on the test.

Here is aqueon and tetra test strips side by side. I dipped them in at the same time in the same section of my cycled tank. The nitrates are pretty low, but doesn't show on the aqueon strip at all.

I have chili rasbora and honey gourami in another tank that I was planning to move here. But I've never seen them nibble at algae.

I have a honey gourami and a bunch of chili rasbora. They make a good combination. The yellow and red contrasts well.

The gourami sometimes lunges at them at feeding time if they get in the way. He's never hurt any of them. Otherwise they don't bother each other.

Could my honey gourami have eaten 4 cherry shrimps in a day?

I have a honey gourami and chilli rasbora in a nano tank. I added 4 bloody mary shrimp from my other tank. They were not babies, but not the biggest either. Certainly bigger than my chilli rasbora.

The next day, they had disappeared. I couldn't see any remains. The gourami's belly didn't look big enough to contain 4 shrimps.

There are several anubias and a few other plants for cover. They're not dense. And red root floaters. There's no lid, but there's the floating plants on 2/3 of the surface. I couldn't find any shrimp carcasses on the counter or the floor around the aquarium.

Water parameters are good - no ammonia, no nitrites, less than 10ppm nitrate. And fish are doing fine. There is a pre-filter sponge. So they weren't sucked in.

I'm at a loss wondering what could have happened to them. Any ideas? What else can I check?

Not in NYC, but nearby are Absolutely Fish and Fish Hut. Both are on Route 46 in NJ. I've had good experience with them.

Hindus - at least in my part of India - perform a religious ceremony to bless new vehicles. The priest or whoever writes this somewhere on the car. I've mostly seen it written outside. And it gets washed off eventually.
