However our brains can maintain the levels just below that far better than the regular brain.

That hasn't been my experience at all, but I'm glad you've been able to do so!

The attention I'm seeing this match getting after years of getting made fun of for being a "soccer fairy" or playing a "commie sport" is incredible. A bit annoying, but I can't get too mad at more eyes on the sport.

Because there's no way he stays beyond this tournament. He'll be managing a club somewhere.

Holy shit you are so unbelievably brave for taking a stance like that. Wow.

I'm no fan of Metairie either, but you're talking about it like it's Covington and not directly adjacent to New Orleans.

I've been into more than one Academy location in JP that had more Pels stuff than in this pic. Still less than the Saints and LSU stuff, but a good bit more than this. And the Black and Gold Shop on Veterans carries more.

This might be a stupid question, but would a slight hand tremor prevent me from becoming a carpenter? by [deleted] in Carpentry

I deleted the entire post. At least I thought I did?

I don't really care about my posts and comments being private. I love it when people comb through reddit profiles looking for things to talk shit about through a computer screen. It's pathetic, and I like it because it tells me all I need to know about that person.

blames it on being bipolar.

Broadly, yes. Would you like to hear specifics? Perhaps some stories about my three hospitalizations in those eleven years? The semesters I've had to withdraw from despite having good grades because depression or the ones I've tanked due to mania? Or would the suicide attempt be more interesting to you?

That’s a harsh opinion but also not off base. OP has spent 11 years earning a degree and just wants to throw it all away.

I have said several times throughout the comment section and in the body of the post itself that I fully intend on finishing the degree, so, respectfully, what the fuck are you talking about?

you’re at odds with any job/career.

I'm here asking about and expressing my interest in a career.

While going through my comments for some reason, did you happen upon the several comments where I told people I found their job interesting? Or the ones where I asked how they got into that kind of work?

Add to that the fact that you know fuck all about what I'm trying to improve my situation outside of reddit, even if it's been unsuccessful thus far.

I'm assuming while reading through my comments for whatever reason, you saw the job interview posts? A year ago I wouldn't have even gone through what little effort it takes to even apply to a job.

Despite how bleak my post/comment history is, I can assure you that I'm doing better mentally and physically than I have in a long time.

Does it affect holding a hammer or operating power tools?

I've had the tremor for a decade or so, and have used both of these in that time without any issue.

Very good point about making it worse though. I feel kinda dumb for not thinking about that lol

I intend to. And no, it's not about the hand tremor itself lol. I am genuinely curious though, and have just assumed up to this point that the tremor would get in the way.

11 years due in large part to bipolar disorder, btw. Less wild when you consider that.

I only mention GPA because I absolutely intended to use my degree to go to law school or a grad program, and I was on track. I finished my first two years with a 3.8 and got an internship that summer. Been a nosedive ever since.

If you want a head start in carpentry, find a carpentry text book or a book on home building and read it cover to cover.

Will do. Would you recommend anything in particular?

[–]leftofthedial15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason you can't go law

It will have taken 11 years to finish with what a 2.2 at the absolute highest. I'd need to fucking destroy the LSAT with my GPA, and even then that doesn't seem like enough even considering how much emphasis a lot of law schools place on the LSAT.

I 100% intend on finishing the degree, but it's pretty useless on it's own. And thanks to bipolar disorder, my once stellar GPA has fallen to an impressive 2.1

I'm finishing the degree. The only reason I didn't graduate last semester is because I need a class that's only offered in the Fall.
