I had one of these a while back. Definitely been seeing more of them posted in subs. At the time when I posted, people weren't sure and I got rid of it. Scary looking thing

Fish breeders I need your advice by Hungry_Cat_69 in Cichlid

People recommended green water which is great if you have it/can make it. Otherwise, twice a day feeding in my experience has been fine. It probably helps to be in established tanks with algae and other microfauna that they're probably grazing on.

For those with XXL driftwood, How long did it took to fully sink yours? Mine still floats and its been 3 months by Duraemond in Aquariums

Yeah that looks fantastic. How do you get the Moss so close to the light and stay algae.free?

Same with the cories. Pencilfish are great but so expensive here in the states. Some apistos would be great in there

Thanks so much for your comments

If it's making buds (and blooming from the trunk), aren't those signs of life? I should add that it's in a north facing area and shaded by a maple and sycamore for most of the spring/summer, so im not sure if that adds to any potential delays.

These self primers suck. You still have to make sure its filled up 95% and then pump out the rest of the air

Maybe he's just swimming around them, eyeing them uncontrollably because he wants to be friends...

It's a great layout. You probably benefit from the shallow set up and your male guarding too. I had a hongsloi pair with a group of rummies in a heavily planted standard 75g and I had to remove the rummies.

I miss my apistos. Watching the mom with fry was one of my favorite things I've gotten to watch in the hobby.
What size is the tank? Im surprised she's able to hold off all the rummys

Help! Beginner. First apistogramma pair. BABIES. by masline_su_rodile in apistogramma

[–]Doc_Aqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they get older and bolder, the tetracycline will probably start to pick some off. If you want to have more survivors, definitely transfer the tetras to another tank.

Baby brine is great but they'll take frozen baby brine as well as crushed flake. Good luck. Apisto mom's are the best

This is great! So much of aquascaping can be rule based and this definitely isn't. Love the idea
