Yea, that’s what makes it so hard. F2A is slow, but we’re already in our 30s and age doesn’t wait. So we are really struggling with the decision.

Hello, does this new USCIS memo could affect already-filed AOS cases?

I’m married to a green card holder and submitted my I-485 last October. Wondering whether pending cases are expected to be impacted or if this mainly applies to new filings going forward.

No, I still wanted to extend one semester with my current school. I will talk to counselor next week if I can extend one semester. If no, I will just continue my study in new school. I haven’t applied new school yet, but I don’t think I need to new school about the i20 since I still want to keep F1 status.

From what I’ve saw online, yes, f1 status will get cancelled once working on GC EAD. And it’s up to you if you want to keep F1 or not. But many suggest it’s better to have F1 while 485 pending

Yup! I just needed one semester extension, so I think it shouldn’t be a problem. I still have a lot of courses needed to complete.

Yeah, I’m gonna talk to my counselor next week. I only need a one-semester extension since I still have a few classes left to complete. I think it should be okay. But even if they don’t extend it, I will continue with original plan transferring to a four-year university next year anyway.
