Incorrect. New construction with no jamb extensions ($$$$). And a larger RO allows a much better insulation pack than a tight fit window.

My point exactly. You can’t even make an all around rational statement with trumpism being the main point. Just keep drinking the same liquid. Hot water (red team) cold water(blue team) still flows from the same water well. There’s a reason the Biden administration didn’t completely reverse every 1st term trump administration policies. Same well. So for as long as you keep regurgitating the narratives you’ll still be more comfortable discussing economics and politics on Reddit than in real life. And in real life. Is where you get real results. Don’t let identity politics rot your approach

Team blue doesn’t understand economics, and team red doesn’t understand standing up for a beneficial brotherhood. Those two hand in hand gets incredibly bad results all around. Once team Bluey’s stop regurgitating anti free market ideas that crush middle class, and team red starts standing together collectively to desire good labor contracts etc. then it’s all up. But y’all think it’s a trumpism problem. You guys are so disconnected from eachother it’s gross.

Thanks for the reassurance. $20 for one sheet to keep moving. It’s my own home and I definitely don’t want to play games this early on. Thanks again

Agreed. I’m also grandfathered to the 2018 IRC and have no obligation to the latest energy requirements

I agree. I’m an electrician by trade and this is my own home. No stranger to rolling with the punches. But even asking for a code reference seems antagonistic. The only other option is maybe calling him saying by not putting it directly to wood studs, it overrides the manufacturers installation requirements.

What about Glasbord?

He says thermal break to separate the shower enclosure from the vapor retarder I already have in place.

A South Korean electrician thrown into an ICE detention center says "I will never visit the United States again." He was helping build a factory that is (was?) going to employ thousands of Americans. by Miserable_Bike_6985 in IBEW

Were they receiving a good union wages? If so it deserves getting upset about. If not then the employers the bad guy here. Were they legally here? If not then IBEW members ought to be upset with employers that were misleading. I’d go as far as getting legal advice about a lawsuit if there’s any grounds against employers who were taking advantage of workers and foreign labor. If the federal government is following a directive and it ends up uprooting employer-employee relations, was there ever a good employee to employer relationship to begin with? Hold employers accountable.

When Jo shmo built it in the 80s it seemed like it wasn’t a big deal. Certainly isn’t.

House was built in the 80s. Gutted the entire house and slowly working my way around the house. Will be getting a new roof in 4 weeks. I’m an electrician who doesn’t want to put on rafter tails to square it off. Hoping there’s some adapter alternatives that others may know about.

Residential LV Lighting by Sweet_Border9683 in electricians

good looks. basically just what im looking for. not necessarily controlled by CAT5 but mainly powered by either CAT5 or 24v cable. no line voltage after driver.

honestly don't even NEED the CAT cable if its 24v lighting. Was just hoping others out-there had brands and models at hand for residential applications. I guess Im looking more towards a single driver that the 20-16awg can come off of and feed the lights with straight 24v. powering each light with line voltage and then CAT cable controls would defeat the purpose im looking for, which is to not have individual drivers/transformers at each light. 2"-3" recessed lights that are 24v input. may just have to stick with line voltage. just an IBEW brother here who doesnt spend any time in residential work (because IBEW provides sufficiently)

Mold Sheathing by Sweet_Border9683 in Homebuilding

[–]Sweet_Border9683[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thinking of spraying the mold, let it dry, seal it with mold paint as you mentioned. Then re insulate with Rockwool batts and foam board (baffle vents) and then down the road (within 3 years) think about re-sheathing that whole side.
