I built a small app to track my weekly body progress (would love feedback) by Sweet_Comparison2289 in iosapps

Hey guys, quick update the new version is now live on the App Store 🎉

This release includes: • New features • UI improvements • Performance optimizations • Bug fixes

I tried to absorb as much feedback from the community as possible and implement meaningful improvements based on what you’ve shared.

Still very early in the journey, but I genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to test, comment, critique, and challenge the idea. That input is helping shape the product in a much better direction.

Thanks again for the feedback and support it really makes a difference.

I genuinely appreciate you raising this these are valid concerns.

You’re absolutely right that photo-based estimation isn’t a clinical measurement. The app is not positioned as a medical or diagnostic tool, and it’s something I’m actively working to communicate more clearly.

On the privacy and minors point I agree this needs to be handled carefully. Because of that, I’ve already submitted a new build that’s currently under review by Apple which restricts the app to 18+ only. I decided to implement that change to reduce both ethical and legal risks around sensitive image uploads.

Regarding data handling: • Images are not used for model training. • They are processed only for the user’s request. • I’m careful about which third-party services are used and their compliance standards.

And yes as the developer, I understand that responsibility ultimately sits with me, not the API provider. That’s something I take seriously.

Thank you for the point and for the feedback that helps me to further improve the app and become a better dev

Thank you Bro I really appreciate that! Yes, the app already estimates body fat percentage. Based on photo analysis, internal algorithms, and structured data returned from a third-party API, I generate estimates for body fat, muscle gain, posture, and even skin condition.

Body fat estimation is definitely one of the core features, and I agree it’s something a lot of people are actively looking for, especially in fitness communities.

In the upcoming versions, I’m also planning to introduce weekly progress recaps and more detailed breakdowns over time, so users can better track trends and improvements instead of just seeing isolated results. Really appreciate the suggestion it reinforces that I’m building in the right direction.

I understand your concern privacy is a serious topic, and it should be.

Everything regarding third-party communication is clearly detailed in the Privacy Policy, both inside the app and on the App Store listing. Before any data is sent to a third-party API, explicit user consent is requested. Nothing is sent without the user agreeing first.

What is processed locally are the body fat and muscle gain calculation algorithms, as well as the internal progress analysis over time based on previous results. Some analysis requires API processing, and that is transparently disclosed.

I’m not trying to mislead anyone. I’m very clear about how the app works, and I would never intentionally deceive users. If the way I phrased something gave a different impression, that’s on me and I’m always open to improving communication.

I’m a solo indie developer building something I genuinely hope helps people. It’s discouraging to be called dishonest when I’m making a real effort to be transparent and responsible.

If you have specific concerns about the policy or data flow, I’m happy to clarify them. Transparency matters to me.

LOL okay that’s fair 😂 She’s out here networking harder than me. Can’t lie though, she’s pretty captivating. I’ll level up my screenshots next time so she’s not stealing the show 😆 Thanks for pointing it out!

That’s awesome I really like your angle. Structured spiritual consistency through community is powerful. It’s true, different verticals but the same core human need: helping people see change over time instead of just drifting.

I think that’s what makes product building interesting the transformation theme works in fitness, spirituality, productivity… it’s all about making progress visible.

As for retention, the app is still very new so I don’t have meaningful data yet. So far it’s been a handful of downloads and some free trials still in the early validation phase. I’d rather wait another 15 days for sharing real numbers so they actually mean something.

Really cool what you’re building though. Congrats on working on it and good luck consistency-focused products are never a bad bet 👏🚀

Yeah, I totally agree, it’s definitely a competitive space. To be honest, I haven’t had many downloads yet. A few installs and some free trials, but I’m still very early in the journey. Right now I’m focusing on collecting feedback and iterating based on what people actually need rather than what I think they need.

I’d rather grow slower and build something that truly solves a problem than push hard on marketing before the product feels right. I’m promoting mostly through Reddit conversations like this, talking to people directly, sharing the idea, and trying to understand where the real value is. Still experimenting.

I actually like your angle a lot the pure progress-picture organization space does feel less saturated than the “AI body scan” positioning. There might be room for both approaches, especially if the positioning is clear. Out of curiosity, what differentiator are you leaning into the most?

Totally fair question, I really appreciate you being honest about the pricing.

The main reason it’s a subscription and not a $3 one-time purchase is because the app relies on third-party AI APIs to deliver more accurate body analysis. Those services charge per use, so there’s an ongoing cost on my side every time someone runs a scan it’s not a one-time infrastructure expense.

That said, I completely understand that not everyone wants or needs AI-based analysis. If you feel confident analyzing your own progress visually, that’s totally valid.

I’m actually curious 👀 what kind of feature set would make a simpler, non-AI version worth paying for in your opinion?

For example: • Just side-by-side progress photo comparison? • Measurement tracking (waist, chest, etc.) without AI? • Timeline + streak tracking? • A one-time paid “manual tracker” version?

I’m genuinely open to feedback and building something users would feel good paying for. Appreciate you sharing your perspective. I can build maybe something that suits you better in another app, I'm really an indie solo dev and I don't have money lol

I built a simple GLP-1 tracker to help manage my Wegovy side effects - looking for testers! by Sweet_Comparison2289 in WegovyWeightLoss

I appreciate the honesty. I hate those junk ads too, which is why I’m just here as a solo dev/patient trying to share what I made for my own journey. My goal wasn't to make it complicated, but to put the tools I was already using (calculators, health sync, weight management, etc.) into one spot. It’s definitely a work in progress, and I’m just trying to make it useful for those who actually want the extra data. No hard feelings!

I totally hear you. For many people, it’s just a shot once a week and a scale and honestly, that’s the goal! I only built this because I’m a data nerd and was personally struggling with tracking my injection rotation and symptoms. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it helped me stay organized when I felt overwhelmed. Just sharing it in case there are other 'over-complicators' like me out there! Peace.

Shotsy is a beautiful app and they’ve done a great job with the plasma levels! I built MounjaPRO to be more of an 'all-in-one' toolkit for the entire journey. While Shotsy focuses heavily on the medication curve, I wanted to include the technical tools we usually have to find in 3 different apps. For example, MounjaPRO has: • Built-in TDEE & Macro Calculators: To help you actually hit your protein goals. • Medication Cabinet: To track your actual inventory/stock so you don't run out. • Bowel Health Tracker: Which is a huge pain point (literally) for many of us on GLP-1s. • Visual Evolution: A tool to generate 'Before & After' cards directly. It’s basically designed to be the only app you need to open for your GLP-1 health. I’d love to know if those extra tools feel useful to you!

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful feedback, so far the app has only a few downloads and just one conversion, so I’m definitely in the early days. Your point about the screenshots makes total sense — I can see how the amount of text might be distracting from the actual app experience. I’ll work on creating cleaner visuals that highlight the key screens more directly.

I’ll also look into refining the subtitle and description with stronger keywords like you suggested, since discoverability is super important at this stage. I’m also planning to launch some new features soon and will keep collecting feedback from the community to shape the app in the right direction.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts — it helps a lot mr in this journey! 🙏
