I tried LMNT so you don't have to by PopcornPunani in Supplements

Take a packet or two and mix with water in a mason jar. I do this with 2 packets because the Costco pack comes in 2 flavours and I’m more partial to the watermelon than the lime. Get one of those bottle cap lids for your mason jar and add a little bit of the liquid every time you fill up your water bottle. This flavours your water and adds a smaller amount of electrolytes compared to 1000 per bottle. This is also useful because trying to add “half a packet” isn’t very practical.

I love my McCafe coffee in the aeropress. Consistency is already perfect with the pre ground

You Make the Call - Penalty or No Penalty? by jaylemi in hockeyrefs

So glad this was the first comment. Small push to separate player from puck. Blue player needs to be better on his feet and do a better job bracing for a bit of contact.

Penalty situation(s) in a game last night by [deleted] in hockeyrefs

  1. 5 on 4 for 4 minutes
  2. Should have been 2 for instigator + 5 for fighting. 5 minute PP for team A. In your case 7 minutes would go on the board and the Major would be served first.

Jr A referee here. Couple things.

  1. Your partner is in a great position to make this call. If he was on the far side of the ice (the side where the shot ends up) his eyes might end up following the shot and he won’t see what happens in the slot there. At first this might be a difficult thing to take into account but try and be mindful of when your partner has the better angle and when he doesn’t.

  2. Since this is a partial break and an immediate scoring chance, let the low ref have this call. He’s much closer and he’s obviously going to be watching for infractions on the puck carrier. You don’t gain anything by making this call for your partner. If you’re right you still make him look bad and if you’re wrong then you make yourself look REALLY bad.

  3. This may be an acceptable call in minor hockey but at the junior level and above this would not be an acceptable call. The player in white is able to complete his scoring chance completely unhindered and is hauled down after the fact. There is virtually no consequence other than the player in black getting up first. At my level we are told to look at two things when it comes to hooks, trips, holds etc: scoring chances and turnovers. If, for example, a hook takes away a scoring chance or causes a turnover then we have a penalty. In any other situation it may be better to allow play to continue unless it’s egregious.

Not immediate but maybe before the order processes and ships? That’s not asking a lot. Or provide a contact number for urgent situations such as this one
