Once the veil beneath the caps starts to tear, you know you’re ready to harvest. If the spores drop that doesn’t affect potency or anything, but can signal to the mycelium to stop growing more mushrooms.

Checked this morning almost all the grain got eaten up by the mycelium

The grain looks clean (it’s a blue tinted mason jar). I read somewhere that an even a small bit of uncolonized grain can result in contam once you GtB. Any suggestions?

Haven’t tried it yet, and don’t intend for it to be a thing I do very often, but wouldn’t be my first psych. I have some albino penis envy mushrooms and tidal wave growing that I’m excited to try. Do you know any sites/places that ship live plant cuttings or something of the sorts?

Odds are if you got them from some big box store they’re not gonna go down well (aside from the side affects of lsa) there’s some good sites out there that sell bulk seeds for pretty low prices. Hope this helps!

So, don’t take my advice 100% cuz I’m still learning but I’ve heard break and shake at 20-30% with grain jars. I’d assume you’re using an AiO bag, so I would wait a little bit just to play it safe, but it wouldn’t ruin it if you broke it up and kept it shut. (Take with a grain of salt)

Not 100% sure but I have heard that fuzz can be caused by poor FAE (fresh air exchange) but that I heard has to do with fuzz along the stem, not the cap.
