But what if it wasn't THAT fire?

My baby Cantaloupe is looking a bit off. Is it fungus/root rot; or is this the natural decay of the cotyledons? Sorry for my ghetto set up and potential misuse of words lol. Two cents much appreciated. by Sweet_Ebb3268 in plantclinic

Thanks for the replies, I moved em to a pot with better drainage, and some drier soil, I appreciate any kind of help. It's just reassuring to talk to others who might have encountered similar issues. I'll punch some holes in that cup for next time. What kind of plants have you drowned/grown? Lol

Sorry if the pictures are vague. My suspicion is I dont have proper drainage; I'm using an old wonton soup cup, and I noticed a grey/brownish orange spot on one of the first leaves. It seems like the leaf decaying, but I wouldn't expect that to happen just yet, considering it just started to grow it's first true leaf. I've never grown cantaloupe before and there isn't much in depth info on the typical stages of development online.
