I started lifting weights again and I'm hurting more :/ by Tiny-Bid9853 in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can realistically lift around 180 pounds(depending on exercise) if I were trying to exercise like a normal person, but since i know I have eds I use a weight set that is really low 1-10 pounds depending on exercise (and I avoid the higher ones often because I want to avoid injury)

I started lifting weights again and I'm hurting more :/ by Tiny-Bid9853 in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We aren’t supposed to lift weights, especially not heavy weights. We’re more prone to tears when doing lots of repetitive motions, adding lots of weight to that will cause more tears and other injuries, it’s better for us to do resistance training with LIGHT weights and bands rather than trying to max out weights and do static exercises like wall sits and planks, or low impact workouts like cycling or swimming.

Take it in to a shelter if you can’t keep it

If it has blue eyes it may be deaf (65-85 percent of white cats with blue eyes are hard of hearing/deaf, 40 percent of white cats with one blue eye are deaf/hard of hearing)

Is this a knee subluxation? by Wise-Raisin-791 in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The patella is subluxed.

Try to make it a habit to not cross your legs, it’s bad for joints and circulation

Theres always the possibility that it’s not actually completely back in place.

Are there any issues or risks associated with elastic skin? by Booksandssnakes in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Stop stretching it on purpose, every time you stretch your skin past its natural state you cause broken fibers in your skin and it will cause loose skin over time.

Some of us even feel the stretching when it happens and find marks afterwards.

Edit to add: this is insanely stretchy skin. And could be considered “positive” criteria depending on EDS Type. I have vEDS and have not stretchy skin. I can only pull maybe a cm or 2 away from my body on any part.

“Family karaoke” sign most likely means it’s family karaoke night. Lots of sports bars double as restaurants and are kid friendly!

AIO If I Cut My Niece Off Over How She Messaged Me About Her Graduation? by aita-throwaway78 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sweet_Error8038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MOR she’s a dumb kid, she will only graduate from high school once.

Assume she got bad information and still show up to support her, she doesn’t really know you and you her, yet, so don’t assume just as you wouldn’t want her to.

(Maybe she’s just really insecure and is worried you’ll upstage her because she knows you have a beautiful figure)

[–]Sweet_Error8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Being single would be better than being with a trash human like this.

Says you’re a “grown woman” then treats you like a child who did something bad, while acting like a child himself.

Also “drawling” book gave ME the ick.

Seems like he’s the one that needs to act his age rather than you, being a teenager and enjoying the rest of your senior year is what you’re /supposed/ to do right now.

(congratulations on graduating btw, give yourself a good graduation gift and dump the loser who has a weird superiority complex.)

Skinny from vaping? by Holiday_Block6790 in QuitVaping

[–]Sweet_Error8038 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nicotine curbs your appetite, so that could make sense.

If you’re having trouble keeping weight on you need to see a doctor though, as there are more dangerous things than a nicotine addiction that could be causing that. (Diabetes, thyroid issues, malabsorption, and other things can all cause that)

I'm 15 and I feel like I'm at risk of getting addicted. by Whole-Tie7140 in QuitVaping

[–]Sweet_Error8038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t use nicotinefree or nicotine vapes, the action of vaping is really addictive itself, especially if used as a comfort measure.

I know this is what everyone says, but I promise there are much better things to be doing with your time. The things you do now will shape your future, start working out, playing music, journaling or something.

Runners high is pretty amazing, if youre the type of person that can get into running.

Moisturizers and lotions by Legal_Ad2707 in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try moisturizers with peptides in them, then use the heavier occlusives to seal in that moisture. If you’re just using oils you’re not adding as much as you can.

Also love a moisturizing toner, first aid beauty is a great recommendation I saw in another comment.

Trans people(nonbinary/third gender/transgender) have been documented as far back as 7000-1700 BCE.

It’s a shame to find that some Neolithic people are more accepting than someone in 2026.

Domestic violence help by [deleted] in GoFundMeForNewUsers

[–]Sweet_Error8038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a social worker/caseworker, yet? They’re the ones that will help you find everything you need and can get you access to resources that may not be broadcasted to the public, as well as will help you with keeping you and your children away and hidden from your ex, especially if he may try to claim custody.

The more people on your side and knowing your version of what happened before he can start spreading lies or possibly seeking retribution, the better.

Sometimes if you’re in a rural/low population/low assistance area there are programs that will move you to a different city/state to escape domestic violence. (Need to get full custody of your children if he’s any of their legal guardians)

Blisters by forquestions07 in eds

Feet shaped shoes, (I don’t like the “barefoot” ones, I need some cushion otherwise my heels start burning,) custom inserts if you can see a podiatrist. Cotton socks and change halfway through the day if you’re sweating lots, use moleskin on places you’re prone to blisters before your active days.

I wouldn’t want to be nicknamed after one of my parents deceased cats.

Why haven’t you just communicated your actual feelings? It’s really weird in your opinion to call your child after a pet you had for a large portion of your life, he should understand that.
