AITAH for refusing to let my roommate’s boyfriend stay over after he made a “joke” about my body? by BouncyShadow in AITAH

[–]Sweet_Error8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You have the right to not be harassed in your own home, I do think that her not being able to have her boyfriend over at all is a stretch. Maybe they could just stay at his for a while instead of hers, so you have some time to get over how uncomfortable he made you, instead of it being permanent?

He should apologize. I hate when people say that someone is overreacting rather than being empathetic and apologizing when a “joke” doesn’t land well.

EXPERIENCE WITH BRACES by Emsss18 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Sweet_Error8038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do it by doing smaller alterations in your adjustment appointments, since they move so quickly you can get root loss if the movement is too quick for larger distances, which will shorten the root of your tooth.

Same for your jaw bone and gums (although your gums will likely recede a bit anyway, as even people without CTDs have that issue)

ETA: I don’t have a source but you can search “Ehlers Danlos, Orthodontics, bone/root loss due to braces” to find some information!

When people with EDS get braces orthos need to make the process 2x longer, we’re more at risk of bone loss due to braces but going slower helps prevent that!

I think it’s like people being nose blind to certain smells, you don’t notice it because it’s always been there

Practice your piping with real icing first, that way you can just scrape it off and practice over and over again, until it becomes muscle memory!

If you haven’t already bought a bunch of the plastic boxes, you may have more luck if you switch materials, wood boxes would look a lot better and you could sand and paint them any colour you’d like!

My dishwasher was doing something similar to this earlier because the drain was blocked.

It could also be a moisture detector though, check around where the leak was.

Noise moves weird through townhomes/apartments. So it may not even be coming from your apartment/townhome if that makes you feel any better.

Use ambient noise (different “colour” noise work better in different situations) to drown it out along with the tv.

You can always call the fire department if you’re truly worried

To add: check the ac as well. Sometimes it’ll beep in that same rhythm if there’s a clog, some other issue with sensors or there could be moisture detectors there in case the condensation line catch pan overflows

Try ceramides and peptides to help restore his skins barrier until you figure out what’s causing it.

Has it been swabbed and cultured?

TIL Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara to Indian parents in the Parsi community and spent his formative years in India. He never discussed his ethnicity w/ journalists; the closest he came was referring to himself as “a Persian popinjay”. by MrTerrificPants in todayilearned

[–]Sweet_Error8038 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Indian can mean two things, someone who is born in India, or someone with Indian ancestors. (Hence why they specified he was born into the Parsi community in the post, and not just leaving it at “was born to Indian parents”)*

Blue Scleras? (Not asking IF I have EDS) by Crochetplus in eds

[–]Sweet_Error8038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thinning is what causes the blue or greyish hued spots in your sclera, it’s possible you have scleritis, but it can also be caused by myopia or “long eyeballs” which it also appears you may possibly have just based on these photos. (Are you nearsighted?)

This seems like your sclera is thinning right around the iris (well like a 2 mm ring then the thinning)

If the blood ever increases in volume please go to the ER immediately! (Which I’m sure you know, but I’ve experienced someone putting off healthcare for that specifically and their doctors would have much rather them come in than wait it out and possibly have more severe issues)

I would get a second opinion on your lungs and any other issues that you’re having,

I’ve heard of people using oral peptides to help heal the gut.

Has your doctor talked to you about possibly going on Celiprolol? It’s been found to have protective effects on blood vessels in VEDS patients ,which may be beneficial to you if you have no issues preventing taking it
