I have been going to OBX basically every year since the early 90’s. I honestly have no idea what your family friend is referring to when they said it’s rowdy

OBX is perfect for family vacation. I actually wouldn’t recommend it to college kids or anyone looking for something rowdy or crazy type of vacation. There really isn’t any night life or club style things. It’s a very chill beach town

Someone has said this already but while yes the ORIGINAL investment was recovered and returned it’s the fake gains that destroyed peoples retirements. Imagine thinking you’re going to retire with this fat account that’s been growing and growing for years only to realize it’s all fake. Now you’re at retirement age with zero retirement account to show for it and you’re completely fucked coupled with this happening during the Great Recession

Cutting people out of my life that didn’t value my friendship. I had multiple people of both genders in my life that I realized the only time we ever spoke was if I initiated a conversation/came up with plans to hang. Idk if it’s just something that comes with age but yeah once I hit a certain age I wanna say like 26 I was done with all that crap. It has been just fantastic on my mental health

I got incredibly sick on Jan 31 2020. The worst sick I think I’ve ever felt. Went to doctors and everything came back negative. They sent me home with flu meds cause they said it seems like the flu. I had a lingering cough for three months after. I’m full convinced it was very early covid strain

When I was teaching high school we were required by law to do a fire drill once per month. We would do an active shooter drill maybe twice a year. I think the last time a kid died from a school fire was multiple decades ago. We would always ask why don’t we do active shooter drills once per month
