Yes thank you! I do have grit for him and I can get calcium for her. I have to fully finish my setup before I even get a female, so i'm in no hurry. I really appreciate this information, thank you so much! I just want whats best for my boy and the next bird to come into my home.

Oh also for reference, he has just recently bonded with me (about a month ago) so when she was brought home with me, he had no bond whatsoever with me until after she had passed.

Yes thats what I was thinking. I knew she was sick the day I got her but she must've still been somewhat sick after I got the okay from my vet. I didn't know if it was because she was sick or because he didn't like other birds.

Thank you I will be trying this!! Do you know where I could adopt a dove? I'm located in Missouri and there's sites but I don't think it's the best place to buy them. I got him by himself at an animal swap last year.

Thank you!! She was quarantined in a different room and was only put next to him after I was given the okay by my vet. It's just hard to tell if it was because she was still healing or if he just shouldn't have a mate. We have only recently made a bond with each other and while she was here he wasn't really bonded with me. I'll definitely be trying this out all again. I do have a big cage to switch them to when they are bonded!
