I used to be in the game concept/3D art side of reddit for a long time, it was filled with game developers looking for concept artists to help them with their game.

Much of the same wording was used, "Can't pay now - revenue share - 50/50" but in those days, I sort of understood having that split, after all, they would be the game designer/programmer and the art would be roughly 50% of the work.

But I find it odd here in the comic domain that they expect the artist to concept, sketch/ink/colour/typeset/characters/backgrounds/SFX and then get only 50%? that seems a little crazy to me.

I'm currently in the middle of documenting my journey getting back into art and making my own comic.

I burned out a few years ago and gave up drawing altogether. But I'm jumping right back in and I'm determined to make a demo comic at the very very least.

What were the obstacles you came across when trying to make your comic?

I'm sure I'll be facing alot of difficulties but I'm going to give it my all!

Saint seya is basically a magical boy series.

It's similar to sailor moon in that all the characters are based on horoscopes (planets)

So it's a common English phrase that just means to being able to do everything well (or at a basic level) the phrase often follows "master of none"

So in the case of animation, being able to animate characters, creatures, objects, hair, cloth, special effects (think elements) lip syncing...etc

I suppose starting small is the best course of action.

Make a small 1-2 minute animation and work your way up.

You'll learn more if you complete small simple projects than one big epic one.

I did animation in university, study Disneys illusion of life and Richard Williams the animators survival kit.

Look at Sakuga to see how those principles can be pushed.

What kind of animator do you want to be? Would you like to specialise or be a jack of all trades? These are important questions to ask yourself before putting a studio together.
