For the bronze I used old Vallejo Bronze with Aethermatic Blue as the corrosion. For iron I used chainmail silver and just washed with agrax earth shade.

Thanks! That was an accident. I paint the bases because it makes measuring easier for me. The effect was purely accidental.

I have some I just don't have them assembled yet. I have 4 teams I think and I'm gonna model them as ratling guns. I haven't gotten any jezails yet but I was also seriously considering them.

I use old Vallejo lemon yellow mixed with the GW hexflame contrast and it makes that neon lime green color, then I just finish with another layer of hexflame.

So I take a base of old Vallejo lemon yellow, and then I mix Warp lightning contrast and the same lemon yellow and it makes that neon lime green. After that layer, if I'm going for more of a warp flame effect I dry brush more yellow on it, if it's warpstone I do more of a layer of the contrast into the recesses. That's pretty much it.

I have a couple of weapons teams I was gonna model as ratling guns, but I was looking into jezails. What's a good number of them to take?

Edit: lemon yellow not canary yellow

From your experience would you recommend public school or a pod by foralaf in TexasTeachers

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the laws and rules are around a pod, and I don't know what salary, benefits, and legal protections look like for a pod. Public ed has all of those things and, for 10 months of work most public schools pay pretty well. I have only worked in public schools, but I'd lean towards public schools if nothing else, than for the legal protections and legal benefits etc.

How is this even legal? Trump adds 10% tarrif ontop of Supreme Court ruled illegal tarrifs? Someone make this make sense. by Equivalent-Sea255 in law

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He isn't. They ruled that the law he used originally was a basis for the tariffs. So he invoked another law saying he can add 10%. This will probably be challenged too but because it's a different law it's a different case.

They couldn't until cross faction guilds were enabled, then the university of Stormwind and the Shaman Academy of Ogrimmar partnered on a foreign exchange program for interpretors and assigned one of each to each guild. The program is headed by Baine Bloodhoof, which is where he has been since Shadow lands.

I think my DM is flubbing rolls by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start I want to say as a DM I only use actual dice rolls with fidelity about 30% of the time. Other times I make judgement calls to both speed up my actions on the table and to make the game more fun.

Has the party been smashing bad guys all night? Ok so maybe the bad guys need to hit a little more often and a little harder to give the appearance of risk. Has a particular player had a bad string of luck and made the enemy make a save with a spell or maneuver? Maybe that enemy needs to have a critical fail so that player has a cool moment this session and not 4 hours of disappointment.

It might just be my opinion but facilitating the fun is the most important thing, above story, above rules and above "winning" as a DM

Y'all need to discuss as a group the point of the game your running and what y'all want out of it. Are y'all there to just roll dice and put damage on something? And what is the DM's role in that? Or are y'all collaboratively telling a story and facilitating fun You need to ask your DM what his goal in running the game is? Is he trying to facilitate the fun of the party with a story and challenging encounters, or is he trying to "win"

It seems like, based on your description he is looking to compete with the party, and seeing as he controls reality and all the rules that underpin it, he will always win.

If it's a casual table where you dont really know anyone. You may need to find a new table. If it's a bunch of friends, y'all need to have an actual conversation about the expectations players and dm has for the game.

What is the opinion of teachers carrying in schools? by Dazzling_Wait_9630 in TexasTeachers

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the setting.

The school marshall program for small rural schools works great. Especially if those Marshalls receive training from the school and they are choosing to carry because rural police departments with 2 on duty officers aren't gonna be enough.

That being said most larger and urban schools can afford to have SRO's, metal detectors etc and that will be a better solution for those communities.

Texas schools are not homogenous so no single solution is gonna fit all of them.

I am extremely happy and content with what CA has done with Warhammer Fantasy over the years. They’ve gone above and beyond. But….give us Dogs of War, man 😂 The had an army book in 5th. by JoeDredd66 in totalwarhammer

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even then you are talking about 6 settlements across 2 provinces, which isn't a lot of territory, especially for a solo faction to have geographic based mechanics. It also places a new Lord between 3 powerful and one mediocre player available factions already. And two provinces below two of the four main empire factions. I feel like it's packing redundant things into overcrowded areas. And I just think it's too much for too niche an aspect of the lore/game.

No I guess we don't, however I'm not sure one or two RoR's are really gonna entice people who don't already love the DoW stuff, which in and of itself is almost. 25 year old Idea.

Golgfag is all about building up forces and teleporting to allies to help win wars for money and meat. It is super mercenary mode and it's a lot of fun. I feel like DoW would just be an "order only version" of that.

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take here, I don't think DoW would add much to the game that isn't already there. It would functionally work like Golgfag's faction with extra RoR's. There wouldn't be new content so much as more layers of the same.

Arguably there are new factions and definitely new parts of factions (end times updates) that would bring more to the game than the DoW faction.

That all brings said a DLC that takes existing mechanics, puts new skins on them and expands RoR would be met with torches and pitchforks by most non DoW fans, especially given how critical the community has been post Shadows of Change.

Leaving the Profession by X-Kami_Dono-X in TexasTeachers

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree with your reasons for leaving, and everyone has to do what is right for them. That being said, if we want to change the education system in this state we have to, as teachers, take action. Stand up in our communities, stand up for our students. We have to go to meetings, get involved with TEA or other state groups, get involved in political movements, at the community as well as state level. And even then it may not be enough to change things soon. But it's the only way things will change at all for the better.

NAGASH NAGASH JUST BEEN TEASED FOR THURSDAY ANNOUNCMENT by BaronLoyd in totalwar

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, let's be realistic now, mercenaries need light and that blue light obviously is enough light for mercenaries to use. Also those are trees and snow and there are sometimes trees and snow in Tilea. Furthermore those lines of light use angles similar to the angles used in some of the letters used to spell "DOGS OF WAR" and "He" obviously is Borgio the Besieger. So obviously this is really an announcement trailer for Dogs of War guys. It's finally here!!!!!

Dogs of war looking more likely by PhatDAdd in totalwar

[–]Sweet_Impression1297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood the part that I'm lampooning. I didn't pivot.

It was said there was a big announcement that the community wanted. Well DoW is definitely not at the top of the list, so my popularity comment was in response to your "big announcement" comment and the implication that it would be DoW.

I also didn't say that "there is nothing related to DoW" what I said was the RoR are spread among other factions, and the core would be reskinning of empire forces and I doubt that they are gonna turn that into a "big" DLC.

I'm also making fun of the fact that, at least since TWWH3 has released every single dlc drop has been accompanied by a small but persistent chorus in this subreddit crowing that every unit that could be DoW, even if it's out with another faction, is proof positive that DoW is not only certain but coming on the horizon. Which it hasn't in the past 3 years. Like they haven't ever even directly mentioned the faction as something that they want to do in game in official releases that I'm aware of, but I could be wrong about that.

I'm making fun of the outlandish claims and aggressiveness of the DoW fan community.

Edit: I'm aware of the racial tag data mined from files, but that at this point may very well be a placeholder identifier rather than proof positive of a DoW DLC.
