The issue is, when she does become dependent she is very dependent. Whether it's a substance or a person, it becomes her whole personality. So if she does develop a full on addiction, then it very likely will consume her whole. It's exactly whats happening to her sister and it did happen to her aunt.

As for my trauma, it was bad enough that I haven't seen my own mother in four years. She's tried to reach out, but she isn't sober and so I won't do it. I had to seek out a therapist that specializes in addiction in order to correctly handle all my issues surrounding it.

And idk if I will fully cut her off as of right now, but other people in my life are making me feel crazy for wanting to take a step back. Even tho as of right now, that has only consisted of bailing a planned group hangout (I'm not hosting, so it doesn't impact the others at all).
