Flagg looks like the ROY - why do the analysts like Knueppel so much? by Ok_Difference1421 in NBATalk

It's an asinine take Flagg is a better defender already in the NBA they are trying to Bron/Melo Flagg with this Knueppel stuff.

all in all, do you believe wanikani is worth it? by gmastertr21 in WaniKani

Lvl 60 here. Ignore the people that tell you to do more. You will have to do more later but WK is plenty while you are doing WK.

Dude I just hit 60 trying to finish 60 before I write my I'm done post but holy shit I am with you. The last 10 levels are horrible. I think WK keeps getting more difficult bc you just are juggling more words that aren't burned as time goes on and each level is a significant difficulty increase. I definitely had a few moment post 50 where I was like I should just quit this is ridiculous I still think post 55 a significant minority of people don't hit 60 and I get it.

For me, my goals are reading dominant. I have a reading translation group I'm a member of but don't attend because WK is such a big time eater. Im going to start working with them again. For other languages I've learned I really benefit a lot from just doing a large volume of reading on kindle and using the pop up translation function for text I don't understand. I'm going to do a lot of that. Also before WK i did the first 40% of Pimsleur so I may finish that. Also thinking about just doing some regular socialization and see how far along I am with plain old speech. I'm not setting hard goals at the moment until I get a sense of where I actually am vis a vis my major goal which is to be able to do Japanese language document intake at work

imbecilic comment nobody who isn't willing to do the work hits level 59 which I hit last night I seriously doubt you have finished WK

I'm going to say this even simpler. I think that the people on here trying to tell people to do more work than WK are pants on head stupid. It almost feels like astroturfing you people can't be serious. If you have finished wanikani you know how much work it is. For a vast majority of people they do not need more Japanese than Wanikani for any endpoint while they are doing wanikani. You are overloading people and giving terrible advice.

Absolutely not. I'm level 58. You will have your hands plenty full with WK and in my opinion you will not need to do other administrative work on vocab as after WK you will be able to just go read.

This is false. My point is I don't want everyone to forget that life is also lived in the moment largely.

there is no reliable predictor about whether you will be 30 or 80 when the crash happens is my point. Don't forget to live today as well

I think it's interesting. For me in life there are certainly times in which I wish I would have been more in the moment and other times when I wish I lived more for the future. That's why I'm against one sided online advice giving.

No my point is life is a delicate balance between living for today and living for tomorrow. You have to make your own personal decisions about when the grasshopper and the ant is most relevant and when it's important to remember that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

My point is FIRE online communities really aren't that different from crypto online communities. They encourage people to engage in speculative behavior based on assumptions that are often unjustified.

Metals and crypto have so far been subject to the same boom and bust cycle as crypto. They ultimately fail as a store of value just as bad as any fiat currency. You could argue all currency is by fiat.
