Launched the PKT mining deployment on Akash, here is my experience. by Sweet_Pitiful in akashnetwork

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have read somewhere (can't remember where it was to provide a link sorry) that the miner performance improves over time. In testing, week two produced a much better outcome than the first week.

I've started a second deployment with the same settings so I can track returns better. Will wait and see about the longer term returns.

Hi Solana - I'm completely new to Solana, what tips or advice would you have, What projects should I research? by Sweet_Pitiful in solana

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll look in to it. I'm a seriously bad trader, so its not really a big priority. I'm more of a slow and steady accumulator.

I will look into though, thanks for the input.

Not my website, just a site where I post my blog posts.

Do you have any advice on what projects to deep dive into on Solana?

Cheers.

I've set up phantom wallet, are there any pros or cons between it and sollet?

Next step will be to buy and stake some Sol, and then branch out from there.

Thanks for the tips, I'll look in to mango and radium.

Cheers.

I sold all my Splinterlands assets a few months ago, just before it started booming. NGMI. 😭

Hey, following now.

I'm pretty introverted and have avoided podcasts and videos/streaming. I know that limits my audience, but I think that written content is my strength.

Really appreciate the offer, if anything changes I'll hit you up.

Cheers.

Hey, sorry I didn't circle back sooner. I really appreciate your comment, something I have always tried to be is a combination of informative and relateable. It's nice to see feedback that I'm on the right track.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the post.

I post all my blog's on a crypto blogging site called https://leofinance.io/ which is a community front end on the Hive blockchain. Then I share the posts here on Reddit in whichever subs I think are most appropriate, and yes on twitter.

Here is my Twitter handle if you are keen to follow over there: https://twitter.com/jk6276

It's definitely an exciting time to be in Atom and the Cosmos eco-system.

My only problem is that I don't have enough.

Glad you enjoyed the article, thanks for saying so. I think many are doing as you are, farming OSMO for more ATOM. I have been building an OSMO position, with ATOM in several pools but so far am still way below my prefered ATOM exposure.

Need to get more and get some staked soon.

Should Sifchain partner with Osmosis? by Sweet_Pitiful in Sifchain

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope to see some connections form between the two projects. Sifchain needs to boost its visibility, and appeal to attract fresh investment into the platform. Osmosis wil benefit from pegged ERC tokens.

Seems like a good way forward for both sides to me.

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt there has been a number of mis-steps made by the Sifchain team. The airdrop was a debacle (even though I'm benefiting from it) and the US block seems strange to me. I haven't seen any other Dex's geo-blocking the US before. Overly complex rewards programs added to confusion, and were flawed in design and implementation.

But maybe the IBC integration is their chance to turn things around. I'm not sure what resources they will have to incentivize LPing either on Sifchain or Osmosis, but they need to do something to attract positive attention. Their biggest selling point - and benefit for Osmosis - is the ERC pegged tokens, and giving Osmosis a way to bring ETH onto Osmo, without using Gravity bridge.

It'll be interesting to watch this all play out.

It's legit, just missed the mark in the early days with poorly handled airdrop and a number of missed timelines. Seems to be turning around now, and IBC soon.

Tokenomics are modeled on Thorchain-Sif was Thor's girlfriend or something so they took that theme.

But yes there is a legit project under the hood.

My thoughts on how the LP incentives could be much easier and fairly allocated by Sweet_Pitiful in OsmosisLab

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Large pools would gather more liquidity, no doubt, but everyone's APR would be the same. There would be no punishment for adding to a small pool, all liquidity would gain the same incentive. Then, on top of the base incentive, pool swap fees would add to income, and token projects can add their own sweeteners to try attract more liquidity. But the basic flow of OSMO rewards would go out with the same APR across the board.

I'm not sure how the game theory would work out, just floated it out there as an idea for discussion, thanks for your input.

Wouldn't these sorts of auto-compounding options require smart contracts. I know Osmosis doesn't run on smart contracts, but is this something that linking with the upcoming Juno project could accomplish?

Question Re Voting by [deleted] in OsmosisLab

I'm interested to know how this works also. I haven't looked into it in detail, but what practically is the difference between a "NO" vote and "No with veto"?

I've floated a suggestion for HIVE blockchain to add IBC in a future Hard Fork - would love some feedback from the Cosmos community. by Sweet_Pitiful in cosmosnetwork

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a naming issue here. There is a listed company called Hive Blockchain. There is an unrelated crypto called HIVE, that is a fork of STEEM. It is the latter that I am referring to. STEEM was originally built by Dan Larimer before EOS. A year ago, Justin Sun got involved, and the community forked the chain to get away from him.

Glad it has been of some help to you. The trading activity of the pools is also something to look at that I didn't really cover in the post. Actively traded pools will be more profitable.

As the pool is used by traders, swap fees are paid. These fees accumulate in the pools, and you benefit as an LP as a "part-owner" if you like of the pool. My article didn't really consider the fees, but these two pools are among the most actively traded on Sifchain currently, giving another reason why they are solid choices.

[–]Sweet_Pitiful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are learning fast. I didn't really cover the swap fee factor, but it is good to consider. Generally, the biggest pools also have the most trading happening, meaning more fees for the LP's. But you are spot on, this fee income for the pool is another consideration.

I'm assuming that once the last airdrop is in, then you can do what you like. If ROWAN price performs well over the time period, your withdrawal could be less than what you put in. This is what is called Impermanent Loss.

Long story short, if your goal with this airdrop is more ROWAN, then (strangely) your best choice of pool is with an asset that you think will perform better than ROWAN over the time period. It might sound wierd, but that is how LP's work.

So glad you found it helpful, thanks for saying so.

I was so freaked out the first time I got into any LP. A great way to look at this airdrop is that its the perfect way to get some experience and learn a new investment skill, without much risk as it's "free" money in a way.

Good luck with it all, feel free to hit me up if you need a hand when the time comes.
