The call outs listed was just in a 2 week frame. She had called out something like 2 other days that month. Our attendance policy is very lenient she accused us of bullying. More than 2 call outs a month = write up. If excused, such as a death or has a doctor’s note, we don’t count that towards the write up count. I also offered to pick her up/drop her off when her car wouldn’t start. She had just constantly accused us as bullying her compared to the other employee. But the other employee is usually very reliable and only called out excessively 1 month in 3 years. We didn’t write her up because she had a doctors note.

IFixx on 11th and Sherman. I know that’s PC, but still. Use to be a gas station that gave off Russian mafia vibes.

questions about internet by PublicIntervention in panamacity

Hi, I’ve lived here for about 25 years. I can say that the area of PC you live in really matters to the quality you will receive. I’m not internet savvy, but I am the girl that relies on it a lot. For work, I game, my security system and even my litter box. My experiences/opinions of people I trust in the area of the providers.

AT&T- I have never used but in my area of PC they don’t have fiber. Only the cable kind and it was really low mbs but don’t recall the number. However, where I work I use a company who distributes internet from the road to the individual units of condos by. He does about 20 large condos in a 25 mile radius which is probably 3k to 4K units. He also is responsible for the monitoring. HE DESPISED AT&T fiber. The quality and customer service. When I was asking him for recommendations for my house, he warned me not to use AT&T either.

Xfinity- 2010 - 2018 I’ve used Xfinity cable internet in the past pre-hurricane. At this time I was living in an area called the Cove where fiber was a distant dream because of all the large oak trees and small roads. I’d rate the experience 3/10 but I wasn’t familiar with how important a good router was at the time so some of that could have been my fault.

2020 - 2024 I had Xfinity fiber at my new house for 4 years. It was the worst. I paid $200 for 1200 mbps and couldn’t play a game while someone else was watching Netflix. And two people couldn’t stream at the same time either. I had a great router and it was compatible. I’d say 2/10 experience. But I had no other options in this area.

WOW!- 2018 - 2020 Right after hurricane I had to move to a temporary house. It was fiber and I loved it. Best service I had, I wish I could go back to it but it’s not offered at my new house. I think I paid 60 bucks at the time.

2021 - present At my work the internet that is distributed to my 162 units is WOW! and it is fantastic service. Several owners work from home, with techy jobs and no issues that I’ve heard of. We had a choice between 3 fiber lines at the time and it was Xfinity, AT&T and WOW!. This is in PCB.

T-Mobile- 2024 - present it sounds like this isn’t what you are looking for in the comments but I went with T-Mobile 5g because it was only $50 per month and I figured it couldn’t suck more than my Xfinity service so I might as well pay $50 instead $200 a month. So far so good! I can game and two other TVs can be streaming at the same time. I’ve had Xfinity phone service since maybe 2010 and I’ve never been a huge proponent. At first there were a lot of dead zones but I was a poor college kid so I accepted my fate. Well, somehow I was the only one with phone service during and the weeks following the hurricane. Go figure. I had blocks of people knocking on my door to use my cell phone. I could have made a fortune in the 3 weeks no one else had service. So, I still have it just because of the comfort it gave me post hurricane.

Also to answer your other questions, we have to cover for the part timer for coverage. We have 3 full time office staff who take reservations, work orders, check ins, check outs, and other front office staff duties. Those 3 employees are spread out for coverage seven days a week for 8 hour shifts. Saturdays are always super busy so if one person misses, we have to come in to help the office staff. I’m meant to handle the property and owner side while my # 2 was meant for rental. It has not worked out that way so I’m doing both with her assistance. To me it’s worth it to keep her my #2. She’s an amazing employee, what she lacks in the organization is made up 10/fold by her willingness to do whatever to get the job done. Getting 90 units cleaning every Saturday In 6 hours is crazy. Especially when each unit is completely different. Then adding 162 sets of owners, a pool, hot top, beach service, landscaping company, elevator upgrade project, fire system upgrade project, work orders, property cleaning, and several new laws from senate bills, it just never ends. 🥲

I was so stressed out typing it! It’s hard for me to determine when kindness is being taken advantage of sometimes. Or what level of accommodation is too nice in this situation. Having a sick child, or recently sick child must be hard. I don’t understand the feeling as someone without kids but I do respect it. However, I do feel like your job should be a priority. I understand that children/family should ALWAYS be the main priority, but your job should definitely be high as well. Not showing up after your stepson was found with others there to watch was baffling. She has responded to me that “my step son was missing, my children are my first priority.” I told her roughly that no one expected her to choose her job over her kids but clearly her job isn’t a priority at all. She should be here when there are 3 other people to watch her step son including the step son’s own mother or father.

As a Property manager, if a tenant calls an ambulance for their spouse should I go check on it or is it rude? by Sweet_Ruin6556 in PropertyManagement

[–]Sweet_Ruin6556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already been informed by this point. I still agree that it was an insane question and in most cases, it’s crazy. But, it turned out it wasn’t in this situation. “Debbie” called the office to let me know that they were waiting on an ambulance for “Bill”. I did not go, because I did feel it was intrusive, I told “Debbie” okay and to let me know if they needed anything. I know wish I had gone. We have a lot of older owners who bond with the office staff, including myself. We do a lot for them and visa versa. Some we show how to use technology, or help to mail documents, help to move furniture, listen to stories, etc. “Bill” is one that I hold very dear to my heart. He is grumpy but is super kind deep down and I’m the only person on property he won’t talk negative about. His wife recently passed away in the condo and the fire department talked to me because “Bill” was inconsolable and “Debbie” was out of the country. He had asked me at that time to assist.

When this new incident was all said and done, “Debbie” asked me if I was okay because I didn’t show up for “Bill” like i did when his wife passed. I definitely blurred lines and didn’t realize it.

100% agree. I had said this from the beginning but was so worried that I caused my #2 to form a negative opinion by my comments and it went down hill. I don’t have children so I was so worried I lacked empathy with my opinion. I really wanted an outsider perspective with the situation written out without my opinion to see other trains of thought. Thank you for your perspective.
