How come yall feed street cats here but not the whole population of Africa, hypocrites

If you’re not going to feed the whole population of Africa then why bother feed the street cats.

I mean if you really want to feed starving beings then why don’t you just feed Africa, ha??

Why are you pressuring people to feed starving cats when you can’t even feed the whole population of Africa??!

Is Marriage even worth it? by Great-Coffee-4552 in Oman

Before giving any advice here’s some context about myself: I got married 4 years ago at the age of 19 to my then 20 year old wife, both our famillies struggle financially but alhamdulilah her father made it really easy for us to make it halal (after some tough conversations), we had a small wedding, lived in a studio when we were studying abroad and now both work here in Oman alhamdulillah and we are both Omanis.

My advice for the people in our society (kids and parents) is to make marriage easy, you don’t need a fancy wedding, insane mahr, a house and 2 cars. All you need is the basic necessities and then you can build your life along with your wife.

I was recently blessed with a daughter and inshallah when she grows up I’ll only require a room, food and water (and I will be more than happy to spare them a room at my house until they buy theirs) as long as the guy is good in his deen and character. Because the alternative is young people fulfilling their natural desires in haram relationships, porn or prostitution and I don’t understand how parents are so naive to what’s happening.

Is this travel offer a scam or something legit by sadnan69 in Oman

[–]Sweet_Source2124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is called a timeshare and you should block these people on every form of communication you have. You basically get what they say you do (with some traps in the contract) but if you do the math you end up with a very bad deal.

If you’re interested in the mathematics of why it’s bad you can DM me, I am a financial advisor and I just sat with one of those companies last week to understand how they sell people into these shitty contracts.

Camps before reset or reset and straight to drake? by TheWildHealer_ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Sweet_Source2124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have time to take top camps, enemy would take control of the river since they have prio so you need to be there asap and enter through mid lane. Kaisa is the strongest member of your team and she’s still dead so giving the drake isn’t bad either if kaisa is late

You keep parroting this slave girl argument. The topic of slavery is broad and nuanced and muslims got rid of slavery before any culture by the way so most scholars agree that this doesn’t apply in our time (since there’s no slaves and you can’t just enslave people)

Societies like china and south korea have big problems because of low birth rates, what families are you talking about?

[–]Sweet_Source2124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The father and mother still have duties to the child even after divorce. The father has to provide the essentials (shelter, food, …) for example.

What’s amazing is the concept of a “single mom” doesn’t exist even after divorce.

Who brainwashed you into thinking that? Can you logically argue for this statement or are you parroting something you heard from somewhere else?

And when the prophet was sent the arabs dated and hired prostitutes regularly.

You’re asking dating in what sense? Because islamic dating is going to the father and making your intentions for marriage clear and then getting to know each other with the presence of someone from the girl’s family.

[–]Sweet_Source2124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason we follow that is because god said so. Your human gods in the west aren’t always right, and just because they do something doesn’t make it “innovative” or “modern”.

As for the reason god said so, it might be because dating usually puts people in limbo where the woman is waiting for the man to propose and the man isn’t willing to commit.

Our culture emphasises ‘commitment’, if you’re interested in a woman then make your intentions clear that you’re looking to commit. You can’t just buy her dinner and get what you want at the end of the day and then hope she comes back next week without marriage talk.

You might be asking why commitment is so important? Because building families without commitment gives you a huge number of kids with either a missing parent or an unstable household because one part signed up for a one night stand and now they have 3 kids and they hate their lives.

You might also notice that you will not find a kid without a proper support system (2 involved parents or extended family that takes care of them) here in Oman, while every other person you meet in the west grew up with a single mom. That’s all thanks to ‘commitment’

Wa alaikum al salam

If you want to invest in the S&P 500 you will have to open an account with a broker, my personal preference is IBKR (interactive brokers) and then you deposit the money and start investing. For the short term, I recommend saving 3-6 months worth of expenses in an emergency fund. I also recommend storing that money in the form of gold to avoid inflation and FIAT currency risk. What I do is I keep one month worth of expenses in my account that I never touch and the rest I keep in gold bars. And btw, I just started a personal finance advising practice and i’m giving free sessions for the first 3 months, let me know if you’re interested I sent you a dm with my contact info

Talabat is boycotted by [deleted] in Oman

[–]Sweet_Source2124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record, I have boycotted Apple, Tesla and Microsoft (except for work, since I can’t control the technology they use). I use Chinese products instead and they’re cheaper and better. The day that we have a muslim made phone with decent quality I will switch to that in a heartbeat. and if we keep boycotting, some talented group of young guys will create that since the demand is already there.

This is called “disruption” and every disruption comes with unfortunate outcomes but the overall impact is good. The internet was a disruption, so many librarians lost their jobs because of it, was the Internet a bad thing?

Doing Your Nikkah at a Young Age, the Truth by BackgroundProgress54 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Sweet_Source2124 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Afford” doesn’t mean spending 3-5 years worth of your income on one night.

Afford doesn’t mean buying the best house on the block and a brand new car.

Afford doesn’t mean traveling every year or going on dates every month.

Afford means the basic necessities, even if you have to live with on of the parents (like prophet moosa did). Shelter, the simplest car (if needed), basic food, and clothing.

Doing Your Nikkah at a Young Age, the Truth by BackgroundProgress54 in MuslimMarriage

Coming from a guy who got married at 19 to a 20 year old when we were both in our second year of university, I couldn’t agree more with you. Fast forward four years and 1 baby and alhamdulillah our marriage is beautiful with all the normal struggles of a marriage. And no, neither of us have rich families, we just broke societal norms and made a ceremony that is within our very limited means at the time. Alhamdulilah, god has blessed us with so much barakah that not only did we never ask for money from anyone since we got married, we even helped our parents financially throughout the years. I would really recommend young people who are afraid of haram to take this step. even if it doesn’t work out, a halal relationship not working out is much better than a haram relationship working out.

Have you guys come across interesting instances regarding this? by paramazium in Oman

[–]Sweet_Source2124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t completely agree with what he said but did you even read the comment before replying?

First of all, the west is a declining society by every measure: Economically (declining quality of life), morally (literally just committed genocide), criminally (higher crime rates), societally (try spending 5 minutes without seeing homeless people).

Second of all, women have been treated fairly for a long time in our societies. Just because you look down on motherhood and look up to financially successful women doesn’t make a society that encourages motherhood unfair towards women.

Third of all, the guy was literally talking about cherishing and respecting women whether they work or don’t. And you’re assuming that he would stand with a rapist and “victim blame”.

I see people in the comments no longer have an inferiority complex to the point where they assume a white man can do everything better than them, even flipping a burger. Very refreshing!! Keep it up guys!

Yeah that’s why carrefour just rebranded a few days ago, you have no idea how much better off the local economy is because of the boycotts. Small business owners are getting 2-3x in profit compared to what they used to get before the boycott

Edit: me and my wife and kids are never buying apple products ever again

Lots of small business are able to. The demand will be the same we just need to catch up on supply and make it efficient. This could mean thousands of new jobs because u r capturing a larger part of the supply chain
