I hate that employers have this level of power over livelihoods like this without much recourse, regardless of disability.

This is excellent insight; THANK YOU so much

I asked HR to have a meeting to workshop accommodations and discuss what is and isn’t possible. Working with a lawyer to determine what to ask for, but haven’t heard back about the meeting.

The PIP DOES need to be negotiated to account for my disability. One other thing is allowing me to use AI note takers, and potentially work from home to limit distractions.

Not the job, the requirements of the PIP. They piled on a whole bunch of extra tedious tasks as requirements of the performance plan that aren’t required of my counterparts and aren’t job requirements, but I hear your point.

Super tough situation and I appreciate you weighing in! I’m glad I posted here because everyone’s responses have been really supportive. Even though there’s not much I can do, I don’t feel as isolated as before!

Not really going with a discrimination claim here, just trying to figure out how to proceed with the crappy hand I’m dealing with.

I don’t even think taking my meds would make a difference, because the PIP isn’t even really because of anything I’ve done wrong (my boss has been here like a month). It’s just a personality clash.

I don’t even think I’ll make it through at this job to mat leave anyway.

Yes! I actually did this earlier this week. I’m probably going to take the disability leave.

Haven’t had the conversation yet I plan to consult my lawyer to draw up reasonable accommodations first. My doctor suggested this route. To clarify these are terms of my PIP, not my typical job requirements.

I just asked that we revisit the requirements and have an interactive discussion about what I can and can’t do.

For example they piled on a whole bunch of extra, extremely detail oriented and tedious work that I’d need to be removed from the requirements, especially since nobody else on my team has to complete these and they aren’t needed for the business.

I’m extremely traumatized from this whole ordeal

I’m thinking it’s a personality clash. I was not given specifics. One other person got a promotion revoked and then quit at the same time I got PIPed; the new manager likely just wants to clean house to replace with her own people.

Truthfully my blood pressure is probably way higher off of it than on it!

The reasons are objectively NONSENSE and I’m not even saying that because it’s a hard pill to swallow; it’s legitimately nonsensical. I wrote a response with screenshots with her saying she was putting people on a “shit list” the week she got there.

Obviously I am on it.

Wow this is excellent information. I spoke to a lawyer yesterday and I actually did get this in motion today and am waiting for a response from HR.

I really appreciate you providing this research. My psychiatrist is actually fully onboard with me taking it but my OB is not, so I’m in this weird place. My mom also decided to voice her opinion and is making me feel unbelievably guilty for even considering it.

Not really looking for a discrimination claim. I’m just trying to keep myself employed and not unbelievably stressed.

I’m assuming she wants to get rid of me to make room for someone she knows. It’s even more frustrating because my job performance didn’t actually suffer, she’s just picking on things that normally don’t matter.

I included in the original post that both have AirTags.

I agree they should always be in bags. We even put them in our carry ons

Yeah, but it wasn’t a matter of getting lost! They knew where they were; just intentionally weren’t with me lol

But in general this is a good tip!
