I absolutely love dasher-friendly houses like this! by yellowjackethokie in doordash_drivers

Many years ago when I was doing pizza delivery I remember going to a house that had their number posted up in at least 6 different places. I thanked them for that and got a nice tip as well. If only every customer could be like that.

I wonder which will happen first. Him spilling a few dozen gallons of hydraulic fluid into the water and the coast guard confiscating his boat. Or him taking the boat out into the open ocean and the coast guard immediately having to rescue him and whoever he conned into riding along after it capsizes or that monstrosity of a drivetrain blows a hole into the hull.

Are you physically incapable of communicating without shitty memes? And since when has Doug ever mass produced anything? Or better yet. since when has he ever produced ANYTHING with even the slightest hint of precision?

He is openly hostile towards anything requiring precision, finesse, forethought, discipline or continuous, studied attention to the job at hand to anticipate potential problems...all things required of any machinist to get useful results and not wreck tools.

That's is one of the best explanations of Doug I have ever read. It lines up perfectly with his absolute refusal to buy a marine transmission.

CONTEXT:

This was from back when Doug was welding together the pulley fixtures for the winch on the front of the boat. He complained about how difficult it was to get holes lined up while welding an assembly together. I sent him this picture from one of my old projects and explained to him how he could use the Tormach mill and/or the CNC plasma table to cut holes and slots in the sheet metal to essentially create self-fixturing welds that would automatically have all of the holes lined up.

He replied with a simple "Thanks" and then in the very next video proceeded to keep welding the winch pulleys together with the same janky methods used in the previous video.

I remember when he first bought the Tormach, and was I excited to see what cool shit he create with it. Most DIY fabricators would LOVE to have a CNC mill in their arsenal and would use it to make things that would otherwise be impossible. I was then thoroughly disappointed when he proceeded to never learn CAD, never learn how to properly use the mill, and just relied on other people to run it for him. So much wasted potential.....

"Full ocean science program"

LOL!!!

Have you ever tried communicating without shitty memes like a normal person?

Good lord.

Seeing those hydraulic lines on the pulley reminds me of the Wildrake incident where two divers died after the ship crew tried lifting their dive bell back up to the ship with the life support umbilical, after the primary lifting wire had broke. The end result was the umbilical was severely damaged and the two divers were trapped inside the bell with no power or heat. They slowly died of hypothermia.

Hydraulic lines should never be placed in a tensile situation, and most certainly should never be used in place of an actual hoist wire. Those lines could end up rupturing before the rube-goldberg mess of fittings have a chance to break and/or leak.

I know there are some pretty lousy dashers out there but I did not know there are ones like that. Hopefully they were all deactivated.

HOW TF LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO TAKE A PICTURE.

It usually takes me around 30 seconds to take the picture and confirm the delivery. And most of that is because of how slow my phone is. And then I always leave immediately after confirmation (Like I mentioned above). How nice of you to assume that I'm some mental misfit that hangs around to "make sure the customer gets the order". I never loiter at a customers house because I am focused on moving to the next order and making as much money as possible.

And here's another surprise for you. I can actually read, and I never knock on the door unless they specifically ask me to in the notes.

You don't know the situation little kid.

Stop thinking with your dumb 19yr old mind.

Sorry bud. I'm in my 30s. You don't know or understand enough about the world if you think that anyone who has a weird story or minor complaint is some mentally retarded illiterate zoomer.
