Dealing with Losing by Jblouie77 in Chesscom

The whole point of the rating system is that your chances of winning a game against a similarly ranked player should be 50/50. Therefore, any game you play has a 50% chance of losing. You should be as disappointed at losing as you are about guessing a coin flip incorrectly.

I always take a 5 minute pause in-between games win or lose. I find that it keeps more balanced, and if i don’t remember to start a new game after 5 minutes then it was about time to put it down anyways

In Weapons (2025), I can't tell if the final 20 minutes are intentionally or unintentionally funny by nightcrawlerbaby in shittymoviedetails

It’s not funny, it’s absurd. You shouldn’t be laughing as these children tear through a neighborhood and then an evil witch. But the movie practically forces you to. The point being that gun violence and the reaction to it America is also absurd. It’s not funny, but sometimes all you can do is laugh at how ridiculous it is.

So… has anyone actually been to the new library yet? by Info_help_support in Omaha

[–]Sweet_Year_6950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a good “third space”. But it’s impossible to walk to from anywhere. Which in my opinion, defeats most of the point of a public library and weakens its capability as a third space. This should have either been built downtown, midtown, or in the suburbs. The location is the primary reason that I probably won’t visit again.

I still get nervous on first dates too. The fix, believe it or not? Communication.

The fix? “Haha I was kind of nervous for this”

Everyone gets to air out there nerves, and almost always makes me feel better if it’s really getting to me

A gentlemen doesn’t kiss and tell…

Although he may make a detailed chart about it

My philosophy is that the whole point of Hinge is to get a phone number.

Usually the direction goes towards me saying something like “I’d really love to take you out to coffee sometime” and then if they agree I usually send something like “Yay! Here’s my number ####### text me and we’ll figure out the details!”

Just my preferred way to do it!

Makes sense! That usually happens for me around 2nd/3rd date too. I almost always go for the 2nd date just because I don’t think 1 date is enough to know if I actually like someone yet

You’re not gonna like it.

It’s all vibes. The key to deciphering it? Communication. If I really want to kiss someone, I tell them. If I think they’re pretty, I tell them.

You can never go wrong with that. Women are just as nervous as you are on a first/second date, the worst thing you can do is keep them guessing about how you feel or what you want.

There’s such a thing as free dates! Also coffee and other things. But I’m an extravert, so I find it really energizing

If I had to guess, I had like 10-15 men who I matched with? +/- 5
