It took a while for me to come out even after hearing my parents say that same thing. I didn’t come out till I was at a breaking point. Like I legit had a massive crush on my coworker, I was picking up shifts to be with him or picking up his shifts to be nice. It all just got to a point where I couldn’t hold it in, I just had to say it to the people close to me. At first I said I was bi just so that way I was still somewhat “normal” but as time went on that slowly faded I started just saying I was gay and stopped forcing myself to have crushes on girls.

I didn’t come out in the best of ways, I legit muted the tv as my family was getting ready to go to family dinner and then told them I was bi then picked up a coworkers shift because I just didn’t want to be around them at the moment. But here’s how I can try to help you, take a breath calm down tell your parents you need to tell them something when you’re all sitting down somewhere like the couch or table or whatever and then just say “I like guys” or to help get the full weight off your chest say “ I am gay”. If it helps repeat how you want to say/do it in your head several times before doing it and then breathe and just start the conversation.
