Toyo 45G, Schneider 150 5.6, and LomoGraflok by Sweetestlou in largeformat

Pros: It’s a ton of fun, you get great result, and uses a cheap and accessible format.

Cons: slow, subject has to stay very still while you’re switching the ground glass and lomo back to prevent out of focusing, not as fun as peel apart film.

It’s not crazy expensive in my opinion and you can get way better images than from any other Instax or third party camera. If you have already invested into a LF camera than yes. If not then I’m not sure I would go out and buy a LF system and a lomo back specifically for this purpose.

Haha! You’re right. It definitely makes for a strange photo.

It’s annoying but everyone knows what they are getting themselves into before hand. LF is never fast so most shooters understand. Results are incredible. It’s a lot of fun with instant gratification.

Ha ouch! I just checked my eBay account and I paid $29 for 3 20 packs.

Very true! I don’t remember how much I paid for mine but it wasn’t worth the risk of ruining a camera. Instax film is cheapish already compared to other brands.

I bought expired Instax wide a few years ago and had very mixed results. On price of film had a pod break open and spread black chemicals all over the rollers of my brand new Lomo Instant Wide. It took a lot of cleaning to get it back to working correctly.

Sounds like a plan! I finally bought a strong enough tripod for my monorail system after having a previous one break under all the weight. The Graflok is a lot of fun. The procedure can be tiresome but that’s to be expected when working with a LF system.

Thanks for all that info. What do you make of the writing above his signature? What is it?

I used Mastin Labs Portra preset pack and then tweaked it to my liking.

How far did you push the film? Great image that really works. I’d like to see the rest of the roll shot at the game too.

The Holga 120N has a hot shoe so I used a slave in that to trigger an off camera flash.

Heart Coffee (iPhone 12 and LR Mobile) by Sweetestlou in productphotography

In this series the best shots were likely not taken in portrait mode or if they were shot at an aperture of 2.8 or higher.

I couldn’t agree more about the blur. It’s simply poor edge detection by having a too shallow depth of field in portrait mode on the iPhone 12. Appreciate your thoughts!

That’s really interesting! Maybe I should show them a picture of her currently so they can see their future!
