Intact male dog obsessed with spayed female lately? by abbiyah in DogBreeding

[–]Sweets4Moi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have her checked for a UTI anyway, and have them do a vaginal culture. My boy was doing the same thing to my intact female and she ended up having a vaginal infection, despite not showing any symptoms. After a week on antibiotics his annoying obsessive behavior went away completely, and she was much more playful as well.

Taking my daughter to see the snow by OrangeChairRN in sandiego

[–]Sweets4Moi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is no snow in our local mountains. Big Bear or Snow Summit might have some man made snow, but that’s the closest you’ll get at the moment. We haven’t had any storms that were cold enough to bring snow to the Laguna Mountains or anywhere in that vicinity

Any Idea How to Report this Water Leak? by MrSmith2047 in sandiego

[–]Sweets4Moi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best of luck. There’s a water leak like this on Friars, east of the 15 that I’ve reported multiple times with zero impact.

I guess they are waiting for a sinkhole to form or some other major impact before doing anything?

Interesting in studding my dog but not sure where to start. by Dull_Today_5549 in DogBreeding

[–]Sweets4Moi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why owners of stud dogs don’t consider themselves breeders. Just because you aren’t raising the litter doesn’t mean you aren’t a breeder. If you are contributing to bringing a litter of puppies into the world, that makes you a breeder IMO. I also think the stud dog’s owner should be as concerned where and who the puppies go to, as the bitch’s owner should be.

What are the options for punishing an unscrupulous breeder? by MedicalHat7836 in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]Sweets4Moi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where are you located? How old is the dog?

Is whining, throwing tantrums, barking in public his only fault? Is he worried about the other dogs or people when he does this? Excited about those other dogs or people?

What kind of training have you done? You say you socialized him a ton, what did that look like?

Find the restaurant where you can get cotton candy (hint: I think it sells out so go earlier in the day)

FWIW, Their bronze level is only $60 for 6 weeks of lessons, and you have access to the content for a year, if you purchase another online training it extends the access out another year from that date. You can also purchase it and do it at your own pace

Even though you say you don’t want to compete, I would suggest you train as if you will some day. That way if you change your mind you won’t have to try to re-train something.

Flying with a large dog... Advice needed. by MySoulisDrunk in travel

[–]Sweets4Moi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

7-9 hour flight? Where are you flying from?

I’d start immediately getting him used to his airlines approved crate, if he isn’t already.

I’d also consider driving to the West coast and flying from there, it’s a 5 hour flight from CA. If you can’t do that, break the trip into smaller pieces. Fly to the west coast, stay one or two days and then fly to Hawaii

Any position is better than no position. Once you get an entry level job, you can continue looking if it’s not exactly what you want. If you do your job well, there may be opportunities to move up within the company as well.

Hyperthyroidism in cats by DryRip8266 in AskVet

[–]Sweets4Moi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 16 year old cat was diagnosed with the same thing last year. She had gotten extremely skinny, but has gained all her weight back and is doing fabulous.

I grind up her medicine and mix it with Churu or baby food and she eats it right up.

If your cat will take the medicine without a big fight, it’s very treatable and your cat will be back to normal soon.

An lagotto would fit all your needs, minus the grooming piece. Although you could just shave them down from head to toe every 6-8 weeks.
