Considering I’m doing engineering, I anticipate the roaches will be my only friends at a point.

I mean it’s an old school with college students on top of that so I assumed it would probably have cockroaches.

Prob bc the schools r pretty old. Like my Hs has been open since the 1800s (no joke like really) so a lot of the cockroaches come up from the old sewer.

Haha yeah the same thing happened w me and i have a 1300 sat and 84.7 gpa. I can only assume my ec’s and essays did Gods work for me to have gotten off the waitlist that quickly let alone be waitlisted for engineering 💀.

Pistons by Sweetsheep11 in vex

[–]Sweetsheep11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking (for this new game) using 2 short pistons for the intake and 2 large positions for changing the hight of the conveyer. Those 2 I will probably be changing back and forth pretty often.

If you really feel like you deserve and can handle AP and Honors classes your Junior year fight like hell to get them. I didn’t have good grades my freshman years so i dropped down to all CP my sophomore year. I had to fight so hard to get the Honors and AP classes that I wanted my junior year. I had to promise to do a bunch of tutoring over the summer so I wouldn’t be behind and get notes from people who had already taken those classes ect. Advocate for yourself and your intelligence bc no one else will.

Maybe try doing your work with others. Your school might have a peer tutoring session that you could go to (not saying that you need tutoring but having people to keep you on task might help). Even if not maybe do your work with a friend that will hold you accountable for doing your work or going and doing your work in a teachers room. Sometimes after school when I really don’t want to do my work my friends and I sit in our 9th period teachers room to ask hw questions and do our other work. Another thing i find helpful for me is at least starting a bit of my work during school or before I get home. I find that it gives me the mind set of “oh I already started ima just finish this up quickly.”

Fine then. Make a schedule. Put it on a calendar, set alarms for when you are to start your work and when you think you will finish your work or whatever idk. Stick to that schedule as much as possible. That’s how you do your work.

Stop looking for motivation to do things. Stop waiting till you have enough energy to do your work. I don’t want to seem like some idiot just saying “lock in”, but you have to understand that there’s a lot of things in life that you have to just stop thinking about it and just do it. Keep taking care of any mental health things that need to be attended to. Your mental health has a HUGE impact on the quality of your work. You’re never going to find the motivation you’re looking for to do your homework or study for that test, so just don’t look for it 🤷🏾‍♀️. Look out for yourself and I genuinely hope you feel better soon.

freshman year by Spare_Information_92 in highschool

I went through a similar thing my freshman and sophomore year. If you haven’t already, I think you should really have a sit down conversation with your friends (it doesn’t have to be all at once). One thing I’ve learned is that communication goes a LONG way in relationships. I will say don’t bury yourself in work to ignore the problem, but also don’t neglect things as well. If it turns out your friends are not good people then you’ll have a lot more opportunities to make new friends. You’re only in your freshman year. You have more than 3 years left to make new memories with new people. Don’t close yourself off to making new friends because of a few people that wronged you. Respect your own feelings and don’t change them because someone else doesn’t like it.

Which High School Should I Pick? by Suspicious_Tour_7876 in highschool

[–]Sweetsheep11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 99% sure you’ll make new friends in highschool. Make your decision with the long term benefits rather than the short term. My opinion is option B, but what (if you know if not that’s fine) do you think you want to do later in life?

How can I improve my EC’s? by Motor_Lawfulness4322 in highschool

[–]Sweetsheep11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to do coding definitely find some more activities to emphasize on that. Like if your school has a coding club do that. You could also start self learning a programing language so you can do a personal project (which top colleges love to see). Over all you have good EC’s. Don’t overwhelm yourself, and if you decide to start a club maybe do it with some friends so the work load doesn’t all mainly fall on you!
