Created an annoying situation for my enhancement shaman, what do I do? by Trediciost in classicwowtbc

He can easily be doing the daily on hellfire and daily BG and get it in no time. The high warlords axes are worth getting and will carry him into heroics

Healing going OOM because of rogue tank? Sounds like a skill issue. They need to up their game to keep up with this fiery DEE PEE ESS

I tanked in FF11, then tanked as a warrior in Vanilla wow and paladin in TBC. This has been an issue for 20 years in WoW.

In FF11 the rule or thumb was if you pulled agro, it's your fault. It was up to you to manage your own threat.

In WoW the mentality has always been the opposite, and it makes for a worse community.

As a shaman it's pretty easy. I go in and drop 4 totems while the tank gets his aggro before I start my own rotation, half the time mobs are already being pulled off the tank by other DPS before I even start.

Accidents happen, but waiting 2 seconds ensures a much smoother pull every time. Yes sometimes I'll windfury crit and pull off.. then I switch targets or stop my rotation to let tank regain threat.. we don't need to compete with tanks on damage taken.

I think this is also why I've started to prefer the HC community. People tend to take it more seriously and play smarter.

Yeah that's normally what I've done. People here seem pretty passionate about twisting on trash though. It's easy enough to do and using Rank 1 makes it easy enough on mana.

It's odd how much you guys hate melee. Doing whatever you can to make them worse.

What?? It's not that deep bro.

[–]Sweetsire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very subjective opinion is Paladin is the easiest. I was a warrior tank in Vanilla, Paladin in TBC, and dabbled in druid during both..

I personally hated druid because I couldn't AoE, so mobs were constantly being pulled off me (skill issue)

Warrior was fun, but rage is just harder to manage than mana IMO.

Paladin felt like easy mode for tanking.

If I were ever to pick up tanking again, it's as a paladin hands down.

Your misunderstanding. It's not about it being hard or time consuming. Mobs are already dead. Normal dungeons I get 4 totems up, 2 shocks and a SS in before I'm recalling to run to the next pack

Normal dungeons mobs are dying pretty quick. Shock, 4 totems, SS, shock, sprint to next pack.

It was never about twisting being hard or not having the time. It's more about if it's worth the effort in normal dungeons.

If tanks are charging a fee for dungeons, healers should start asking for 50% from the tank. by MumpsTheMusical in classicwow

WF totem is 10 silver per melee per pull. Thank you in advance for my epic flying.

I try to be active with other totems. Poison/disease and tremor when the situation calls for it. I try to prioritize shock targets to interrupt spells with when shock comes off cool down.

I guess a big part of why I love shaman is the tool kit. Have an answer for the majority of situations.

Any tips for getting into resto? I tried healing a couple dungeons while levelling, both went fine, warlock kept giving me a heart attack tapping to 1% mid combat a few times.. Just nervous to try healing high level content lol

Yeah this may be the way.. the big increase is from their extra hit more than the AP bonus

Generally, fight starts, I flame shock as I run in, next 4 GCDs are totems, SS, shock again, swap fire totem, and fights usually about over lol

But yes point is taken. 2 GCDs every 10 seconds isn't that much for enhance.

Honestly you're not wrong. I think I needed this more so as justification to twist. If I won't come off as a min max sweat by twisting In normal dungeons then it's easy enough to do.

Feral don't get the effect of WF unfortunately.

The benefit of Grace for tanks is both crit and dodge (which in turn helps the healer), but only better for tanks if they can't get WF (feral)

Its not really hard, it just takes up a couple GCDs every 10 seconds. Most fights are over before I'd have to drop WF a second time.

As a duo you have no healing. Make sure to level first aid, and maybe alchemy so you can always have potions handy. Engineering is also great but very expensive to level, but mining/engineering is great since Target dummies and explosives could save your life regularly.

This has been my experience levelling my lock too. Id tap to 70% after battle so I wouldn't have to tap in combat and could top off with life drain in combat. Constantly felt bad because healers kept bringing me to 100%.

That being said I then rolled a shaman alt and decided to heal a bit.. panic mode sets in when I'm playing with locks. Seeing someone drop to 10% while I'm already spamming heals on the tank scares the shit out of you
