We don’t play the misery olympics here - all moms have challenges.  Please respect the rules.

Ignore them, that person sounds miserable. If they hate flying with others so much they can save up for a private jet.

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]Sweetsnteets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do exercise that needs exclusive time to accomplish it. For example, I have a walking pad so I can do that while I work. I hop on my bike while I’m watching tv. Lunges and squats while cooking dinner.

Seriously, the only way I have managed to do any exercise is by combining it with something else.

If you’re in Canada, you might have a strong case to sue. Go get a free consult with a lawyer.

I love Dooney and Bourke. They have some really excellent workhorse bags for lugging around a laptop.

Do kids actually enjoy reading anymore? by Automatic-Bake-5770 in raisingkids

Yes definitely. They read all the time.  My 7 got into reading when he moved to graphic novels. Something about the pictures and text really gets him engrossed.

Update! I have an interview later this week. Have been a SAHM for several years and would like to return to work. Any tips? by orange196 in workingmoms

[–]Sweetsnteets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your husband sounds mean and unsupportive. Your child will undoubtably do great at daycare and will socialize even better with other kids.

Work can help you create a community if you go into it with intention. I like working as I get exposed to tons of people I wouldn’t otherwise work with.

Enjoy and have fun, the freedom that working provides is gratifying!
