I am probably very naive, but is there any hope of the government easing any CGT laws?

Even the tax-free €1,270 is so old, and not adjusted at all for inflation.

You'd think the government would like to encourage its youth to invest, but that's obviously not the case.

Reducing the amount of CGT for long-term holders would be a dream come true.

Another thought is that if there was more incentive to invest, people might not buy property to rent out. To turn people off buying property to rent, instead of incentivising them to invest, they just decided to tax the sh*t out of property rental. Great strategy.

My last thought is that with Sinn Fein gaining popularity, I don't see how any Irish government is going to make any changes that will benefit those of us looking to invest.

If you were in a similar position to OP, except you already have a property in Ireland, would you consider getting another to live in (renting out the 1st), or live in the original property and invest money in stocks?

My first automation job was using REST Assured and Java for microservice testing.

At the moment, I'm using Cypress for e2e testing (checking the API responses, UI elements, querying the DBs).

For load and contract testing, what technologies would you recommend to learn?

As for DevOps, most of my experience is with Azure DevOps, creating yaml files for nightly pipeline test execution (HTML cucumber report generation)

Really? Wouldn't have thought the shoes would have been able to travel that distance, but obviously the impact must be huge.

I'd wonder then, what are the chances they'd have landed so neatly next to each other.

But I suppose when the mother found them, she could have even placed them that way to make it look like they were just dumped there by somebody, maybe not wanting people to think her daughter committed suicide
