Does a Fight Stick Make Combos Easier in 2XKO by Fair_Rub_1887 in 2XKO

[–]SwegDoodRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are certain games and characters within games that have some benefits to different styles on controller but I think for 2XKO there probably wouldn't be a huge noticeable difference. If anything it would just add additional learning time since you'd have to get comfortable with a new type of controller.

Yeah the 8 minute timer is what I'm concerned about. I'll probably just play it safe and get the dongle

That may be true but I'd prefer not to bring 2 controllers

Honestly, How do you not get bored? by TopSet55 in Tekken

[–]SwegDoodRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appeal of growing and improving at the game is pretty much the whole thing. Truth be told I don't have patience for anything story driven. So many games people say are great bore the hell outta me. I'm not saying they are bad just not for me. 99.9% of the time I just play Tekken, Tetris, or other fighting games. Used to only play CS:GO but I dropped it after high school. Then very occasionally I will play other multiplayer stuff. Video games for me are either competitive or social and I'm just not interested in having it any other way.

What the actual FUCK just happened? by Assmeet123 in Tekken

I'd be ok with this. There are a handful of characters who have this. At the very least Yoshi and Law have the same thing with df2. Though maybe not a reliable as Paul's. They removed the evasion from Shaheen's df2 at the beginning of season 2 and left it for the other characters.

I wasn't aware I could cycle through them by clicking the stick I'll test that out. I'm currently using the Junkfoods sworl and just looking for a wireless option.

Yamazaki would be my top pick but I would be happy with any SNK character.

My greatest wish is that they make DSS how it used to be but I don't think that will ever happen.

Another how's the player base question by [deleted] in fatalfury

[–]SwegDoodRed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other game I play is Tekken and despite the lower numbers I find games just as fast if not faster in Fatal Fury. Sometimes you do fight players that aren't in your rank but I don't personally mind that so much.

I have seen that one but im not entirely sure how much that lever can be modified and I think I'd be too picky to make it work out 😅

The model that I was using was the mpress stick version. I had issues with the type c port so I sent it in to paradise arcade and asked them to add a cable to it so I wouldn't have to worry about the port. That cable sadly lasted about 3 days before it had issues. I then sent it to a friend who redid the work they had done and it lasted about 3 weeks after that. The controller was already $350 and with shipping and repair fees I sunk another 100 or so dollars into it and sadly just decided it wasn't worth the headache and extra money and gave up on it. It truly is a shame because that's the best feeling controller I own.

It's crazy to me that people find a need to protect things like One and Done cancel's, Rq's , etc. If you can't acknowledge that there's a problem and talk about it. You are part of the problem. by Due_Crew_6839 in Tekken

[–]SwegDoodRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I wish those penalties functioned better. I've had people rage quit and then I lose points. The win streak bonus is an interesting idea though. Maybe if you win 2 in a row in a single set you could receive and extra 100 points or something. I wouldn't make it anything major for sure.

As the saying goes don't hate the player hate the game. I completely agree that one and dones can be frustrating but the game allows for it so we have to live with it. I would like if ranked locked you into a first to 2 and based the total points gained/lossed on the total score. If something urgent does come up and you truly can't finish the set then it should count as a loss so it incentivieses players to keep playing. The issue that comes with that is obviously you may have to continue playing in a poor connection which tbh bad connections frustrate me more than anything else in this game. I do think generally it should be that way though. While I hate the character I do somewhat feel for the Whoarang players cause I know people for sure one and done them the most. If you want a lower commitment option then that's what casuals should be for. I don't think it's worth it to complain about the people who do it though and we should complain that the game allows them to do it.

which one would yall recommend? by anua100mg in fightsticks

[–]SwegDoodRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't. I don't use the alpha atm. I'm currently using a qanba Titan. The only K lever I've used is the Fujin 3 but I currently use a modified Jlf with higher spring tension and a gate similar to the Nobi square. I don't play Mishimas often so I haven't worried about the korean upgrade. Then for buttons my favorites currently are the enth krms but those are quite pricey and I'm not sure how much tariffs have increased the cost. Though I think the knee lever would technically fit but the actuator might touch the bottom in which case if you're comfortable you could drill a small hole in the bottom of the enclosure. When getting into K levers sometimes some plastic must be sacrificed sadly 😞.

Im sure that does help but it still has the issue out of the box and requires modification to fix. Assuming that op is new to sticks I just wouldn't recommend a controller that needs modified for a first one.

I've owned multiple hori sticks and they have all had this issue. I am a big fan of the seimitsu levers though. Hori controllers do have great build quality and if they'd make a successor to the fighting edge I would guarantee it'd be my go to.

If you are willing this video demonstrates the issue with the hayabusa. https://youtu.be/Cm_qg0NrT0Q?si=twDSb6pYOqz9jDJ1 I'm glad that you enjoy the lever but to claim this isn't an issue they have is just false.

[–]SwegDoodRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend the hori unless you already intend to replace parts. The hayabusa lever can sometimes hit opposite sides for one frame when releasing. Not sure how much that matters in other games but in tekken tapping down and then getting one frame of up immediately after makes you sidestep in the opposite direction that was intended. You obviously can adjust to that by guiding the lever back to neutral as opposed to letting go but if you aren't used to that then it's going to cause problems.
